Two additional potential issues - from very recent experience.

1- Lighting (daylight, 5k led, or traditional incandescent) plus the color the room is painted. X-rite calibration devices can attempt to take ambient lighting in to account but have their limits. Lighting by daylight with large north facing windows and light neutral gray wall and ceilings is probably neutral. Often this can only be accomplished with use of a bulldozer.

2- Cataracts. Even if your doc says you or your are years away from needing surgery cataracts tend to add a sepia cast to what gets sent to your brain. I already have had surgery on one eye and the other awaits. Closing one eye and the other to compare shows this and it is not at all subtle. The brain tries to do its own version of auto WB and exposure so you don't realize what is going on until the doc points it out.

Either of these situation could be you or could be friend at the club.

Bodies, lenses, OEM, third party. Photo equipment old and new has been available in considerable quantity via eBay for years. Then add other used equoment venues like KEH.

I very rarely use polorizers because I can get most of the desired benefits from post processing without degrading the image with an addition piece of glass. That for non-IR photos.

I’m not sure what a polarizer would do with an IR image if anything. It never even occurred to me to try one when doing IR. The effect would likely be different depending on the kind of IR conversion or filtering you select.

PS has capabilities Capture One lacks. Compositing. RGB channel swapping. Wide variety of layer merging. etc I doubt there is anything C1 does that PS cannot duplicate but often only with greater skill and experience.

LR includes good HDR and pano features. With capture one you need an third party software. LR integrates plugins and external processing better.

Capture One, which I use, offers layers, cataloging that I find easier to use than LR. In Capture One the basic adjustment sliders seem to me to be more subtle than in PS or LR -finer adjustments and reduced ability to over cook an image. With layers, masking is a lot more precise and powerful than LR. B&W in Capture one is good enough that i rarely resort to using Silver Efex which was not the case in LR

Does anyone know of software that will create “soap bubble bokeh” in post processing.

It’s something I might use once or twice a year. A brand new Meyer-Optik Goerlitz is a little pricey for occasional use.

I made a few selective color photos some years ago. They looked cool at the time but when I look at them now they are boring. What I think works better is reduced saturation not desaturation. Works best when the viewer doesn’t notice it - draws the eye to main subject(s) without the viewer knowing why, In the OPs photo the main thing the viewer is aware of is that much of the photo other than the intended subject has been “photoshopped”.

I think this is a general problem in a number of areas: literature, music, film. Sometimes the creator gets so in to technique that it overwhelms the story.

I thought about it but decided against. However, reasons against might be your reason for. This is the first Fuji body with PASM dial. The operating controls will seem familiar to non/Fuji users. Those who prefer the “retro” controls on other Fuji’s may not care for the x-S10.

If weight and size are important check out the X-E3! Same lenses available. Even if the sensor is not the latest version it is VERY good. Or wait until first quarter 2021 an X-E4.

As someone previously posted you can get pretty good prices on ebay. However, to be honest there is a learning curve. There are also some annoying even rude buyers. NEVER ship until you have the cash.

With standard auctions the price you get this month may not be the same as next month. If you can be patient “Buy it now” can reduce the uncertainty of the price you get.

Ebay is not for those easily stressed out as it is a competitive environment.

Should you always use a tripod with this lens? Any help out there!!! Thanks

“Always”? No, not always.

Then when? If you have trouble holding is sufficiently steady even with good lighting and fast shutter speed. For example I have arthritic issues with one of my hands - some days I have trouble holding a toothpick steady.

Special situations - When you WANT a long exposure to blue motion. For example flowing water. Change clouds from cotton balls in the sky to dramatic streaks. Etc

Electronic shutter on Fuji does the same. It was also a phenomenon and many film cameras in the past. There are some fairly well known images of 1910-1940 era race cars with slanted oval wheels . This was so common it became a cliché for speed. Check out the shape of the blur made by the Roadrunner in classic WB animations

Sorry to say this but the advice to decline the “job” is generally wise. I got sucked in to this once -and only once- with the result we never spoke to each other again.

Many people think any fool with a camera can photograph a wedding. The professionals who do are paid what that are paid for a reason.

I had and X-E3 repaired. It was damaged by water (my fault). I required a replacement main board. Not cheap but less than a new camera. Turn around was quicker than I expected.

Fuji asks if you will accept used parts (or even entire camera). If you answer yes turnaround is quicker and cost less. Since the used parts have been checked out by a Fuji service department your chances that you are getting back equipment as good or better than what you sent in is high.

Of course the color of the lighting can be a major element of the composition. Low angle early morning or late afternoon light. Overhead street lights at night are another example

My manual for the Nikon D850 lists a normal range of ISO 64 to ISO 25600 and 3 low settings Lo 0.3 ~ISO 50, Lo 0.7 ~ISO 40 and Lo 1 ~ISO 32 plus 4 high settings. I have read that when increasing the ISO above the base ISO 64 that electric current is increased therefore increasing noise but what happens when decreasing ISO below 64? I would expect it to decrease electric current and reduce noise even more. If so why isn't the base ISO lower than 64. I have taken pictures at ISO 40 and not noticed any degradation of quality.
My manual for the Nikon D850 lists a normal range ... (show quote)

One low ISO advantage is that you can blur moving water (streams, waterfalls, ocean surf) without the hassle of an ND filter. The issue of ISO and noise was a very big deal with early digital photography but has diminished (but not disappeared) over the years. IMO with the latest cameras it’s not worth spending a lot time worrying about unless you are using really high ISO (>3200).

The Air Force's recent release of classified information on UFO's supporting their existence should certainly spawn a new boom in UFO photography. So what would be the best lens to use in hunting UFO's? Does anybody have experience in this area?

You cannot use a lens made from standard glass. They need to be ground from dilithium crystal.
