I have a near mint condition Nikon D300 with batteries and charger as well as Nikon 24mm AF 2.8 and Nikon 50mm 1.4 AI manual focus lens for sale. Included will be several CF cards for the D300. If interested, make offer to me by private message. Shipping costs would be extra from San Juan Island, Washington, thanks for your input. I have sold several other items through Ugly Hedgehog and all buyers were quite satisfied. I can provide photos it desired.

Having received somewhat tepid response I am no longer offering any of this equipment for sale. Sorry about that for those who did respond, but this is really good gear and while not the "latest" is still quite serviceable and so I will use it then give it to my son.

Thanks to all for your interest.

Go to Nikon Support and you will find several downloadable manuals covering every aspect of the D500 operation.

The suggestion to check the Nikon website is spot on.

Nikon D1x with a.c. power supply like new condition. Best offer takes it (plus shipping, of course). Camera works great, quite a few Compact Flash Cards will accompany it. Nice camera bag to hold it and several lenses. Any interest and I will post photos of all.

I can attest to the effectiveness of honesty and bargain pricing on this site's "For Sale" section. Most purchasers will happily include shipping costs in the purchase price if they really want the item.

Kerry:

Thanks for that. The 35-70mm ought to work for you for years so long as you are using one of the Nikons with the screw drive autofocus. Even if not, the manual focus is easy. Send me a shot or two once you've acquainted yourself with it.

Nikon F3 in near new condition with Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens AIS, F3 Strobe and near mint Vivitar 70-210mm f/2.9-4.0 with Hoya Skylight (1B) - made in Japan serial 28423335 for those who know what that number means. This is an extremely sharp lens and also works in macro mode.

$325.00 firm for the lot.

AF-S TC-14EII $100.00
AF Nikon 24mm f/2.8 D $200.00
AF Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 D $195.00

I think these are fair prices for someone who wants the items, I purposely aimed for less than is asked on other sites and these are exclusively offered to fellow Hogs.

Please reply by Private Message. I'm willing to bargain but in no hurry.

Thanks,

I've run into a issue with emailing embedded photos. I like to embed photos so the person sees them without further ado, but I use Gmail and some other email systems apparently make it hard--or maybe impossible?--to save an embedded picture in a Gmail. Well my main purpose is to send a photo to keep and to treasure. There seems to be no problem with photos sent as attachments, so now I do both.

I don't know what system you are using but I have found that either posting the original photo on iCloud or Nikon Image Space allows the intended recipient the opportunity to download the full resolution photo they wanted. Some internet access does not allow for enough bandwidth to send large images intact and the method I use gets around e-mail size restrictions very nicely.

I have a Nikon D5600 and D7200. I want to replace my 55-300mm kit zoom and am interested in:
Nikon 18-300
Sigma 18-300
Tamron 18-300
Tamron 18-400

Anyone have advice?

A friend asked me a similar question and I recommended the Tamron 16-300mm zoom for him. He got it and loves it for the ability to focus relatively closely on objects. As I recall DPReview gave that lens high marks. On the other hand, I use my original 18-200mm VR Nikon lens (re-built by Nikon at one point) and it has been great on my D500. I have other faster lenses but for just banging around outdoors that is my go to lens for backyard bird shots.

To achieve the same relative sense of "being there" requires a zoom lens that will allow the shooter to match the view through the eyepiece with the naked eye. This is easier to do, of course, if you use the right eye to look using the camera and the left to match the view. Field of view is meaningless in this sense since you are focusing on getting a three dimensional view with both eyes with a matching view of the object being photographed. Of course, the overall framing of the photo will not include everything seem peripherally with the naked eye, but...

Try it and see for yourself what I am describing.

Why not simply use the cable that likely came with your camera? That should work just fine whether you have a reader or not.
