Some scenes from the complete seasons this past school year. It's a shame there were no more opportunities for them to compete, or for us to capture the moments.

When you rent the car, ask about "walk-away" insurance. It is 100% coverage whatever happens. And something will happen!

Very nice action. Question why F13? My only critique of your images is you have not isolated your subject. These images would look better with a much shallower depth of field. You have a nice fast lens. Open that bad boy wide to 2.8 bump your shutter speed up over 1000 and drop the iso and those images will really pop.

Thank you for taking the the time and trouble to give me your opinion.I did close down the f-stop to see the results and to elicit opinions from people whose point of view I respect. Thanks for your input.

Thanks again for the critique. The reason I don't get down to change the angle is that I have an orthopedic issue with my right foot and ankle. If I go down to kneel, I'll be stuck there.

I agree with chg. about the framing, cropping. Try not to cut of runners legs, or crop at just above the knee.
Exposure is off a bit. Do you shoot in manual, shutter priority?
Good work here, just needs some fine tuning.

I agree with everything the two of you said. These were shot in manual, and the exposure was way off. The cropping and framing are also off. I have work to do and positive criticisms to help me achieve my goal to improve. Thanks for your thoughts.

Those are great action shots. They are clearly perfectly focused and timed. You are setting a standard for some of us to pursue. Thanks.

The early cross meets aren't always the fastest, but you have to love the efforts and determination of high school athletes.
