Weather is cooling down, game time temp only 95 with winds blowing about 35 mph. It was a little difficult holding the Nikon 200-500 5.6 vr even on a monopod. It was a nice challenge though.
1/1600 at 5.6 iso averages 160-320 approx. white balance daylight. Group focus points.

These are Super!! Real cooling down huh LOL. Pretty good results with the wind blowing that hard. I remember times when wind was blowing hard and I am not that steady anyway and it was tough especially on the longer shots. Well You get another A+ A+. Keep it up. I may go out and shoot a JV soccer game with my D7000 and new lens. Thanks

Tom

Jules. Way cool set. I always love your stuff, but this is some of your best this season. (So far)

95? We had frost warnings two nights ago!

PS. My camera and lens finally back from Nikon after the drop. Hope to start shooting Saturday. Hope I remember how...

Hey David. My D810 is at Nikon right now. Lens was ripped off camera and the mounting ring was completely ripped out. The lens 80-400mm $2300.00 lens was hit by a baseball out toward the end of lens. big dent in side of lens, stuck at 400mm which I can live with. It actually still shoots pretty well at 400mm. Sent camera in and they got it Friday said estimate was good so far. I have my new 200-500mm f/5.6 lens I will be using. I am holding off on lens repair, no money for that. How long did it take to get repaired and back to you?? Thanks

Mine was a drop from 18”, ripping the mounting ring off the body and leaving it on the 70-200 f2.8 lens. Nikon got the lens back to me in a week, but there was no real damage. Just had to remove the parts that “did not belong” and test it all out. The body took 3 weeks, as they did not have the parts in stock for the damage i did to the D7200. this body is out of production, so that might have played into the parts availability. In the end, just an expensive lesson for me in setting the camera down and not being stupid. You got hit (I remember your post on it), which is more in the category of “fluke accident”. Good luck
