If you have something with a little more reach I would recommend it. I live right down the road from Solberg airport and go every year. I use my 18-25mm lens and it is perfect for everything. Did you know photographers can come at 6:30 am on Friday and get right in amongst the balloons as they are inflating? That’s the best for great shots. Good luck. Please post some shots.

I prefer #2. While both are beautiful #2 is simpler and calmer which appeals to me.

Some beautiful places along the way in Maine you should check out: Mt. Desert Island, Schoodic Point, Corea, and Lubec. If you go as far as Lubec cross into Canada ( Campobello Island) and go to the northern tip of the island to the lighthouse. A beautiful drive! Have fun

Well my Fuji is dead so off to find a new bridge camera. I did plenty of research and went to Best Buy to check out my two best choices. Canon sx60 and Sony hx400. I like the thought of the Zeiss lens on the Sony and the shutter speed is faster than the Canon but I heard that it isn’t so good in low light. The Sony has a tilting screen and the Canon has an articulating screen...both will work for me. Has anyone used both that can give me some advice? Thank you.

Well just had my camera analyzed and it seems to have a broken chip whatever that means. Also they saw rust on the screws on the flash attachment (forgot what that's called). I can't figure that out since I've always kept in the case. Anyway it's off to find a new bridge camera.

Well after studying all your replies and practicing the early morning shots here's what happened. We were we would approach the bridge around 6 am. I set my alarm for 5:30 but woke up at 4:52 and saw the bridge just ahead. I grabbed my camera (which fortunately I had set up the night before) ran out on the balcony and grabbed these first two shots. One immediately before and just after we passed under it. Not perfect but under the circumstances I was glad I got any at all. The pictures of the city I was able to get from the deck.
Exe for first two is: iso 600, f/3.5, 1/20th sec
Exe for last two: 25600, f/8, 1/80th
