Thanks Alan. When I get my hands on a console, I'll check the firmware. My serial # is about 700,000 above the number you listed, which doesn't sound right. I purchased it 1 1/2 ago as a rental, so I don't know when the lens was made. I knew the focusing should be right-on with the R-series bodies, that's why I was surprised. Another good reason to go mirrorless.

Hi MtManMD,

Just curious if you ever resolved this issue. I am currently in the middle of renting the Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens for use on my EOS RP and am experiencing the focusing issues mentioned in this thread. I decided to rent before buying because I'd read about these same issues. The serial number on the rental lens is 012xxx, so it's an early production unit and the local company I'm renting from may not have updated the firmware.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

I recently relocated from Onalaska, WI to San Diego, CA. I grew up here and love the beauty of this city. Shortly after moving here, I took a trip to Coronado Island and took this shot of the San Diego Skyline using a 10-24mm wide angle lens on my Pentax K-30.

ISO 100, f/13, 42 second exposure.

I was never much into floral photography until I picked up a real dSLR. Now I find myself shooting flowers quite regularly. In fact, almost every time I go out!

Here are a few of my favorites that I've taken.

I do HDR quite often, but it's not quite the same to me.

Here's one of my HDR shots from yesterday's outing - It's of a somewhat iconic motel in La Crosse, WI that's being demolished. Had to get a shot before it's gone forever.

This is my first attempt at the "soft water" effect to give the illusion of motion. Until recently, I used a bridge camera which would not allow the use of filters on its lens. Now, I've upgraded to a dSLR and used a variable neutral density filter for this shot.

I'm pretty happy with it for my first attempt.

I am glad your wife likes it. To me it is annoying. Now don't get mad. It is just that I seem to get a lot of these kind of pics of my grandchildren. I only get the back of their heads. Nothing artistic about that. You also don't even quite see the girls' whole face. The blurry vignetting is extremely distracting. But your wife likes it and that is all that counts. Now that I have said all this, I guarantee that 99 people will jump in and say how great that first picture is.

As for the 2nd photo, I think it is very good. She is very beautiful and she is wearing a gorgeous gown and his tux isn't half bad either. It is a very nice picture of a handsome couple. Love that dress.

The 3rd pic. What can I say, cute.

I am sorry if I sound harsh about that first pic, but I hope you can see the humor where I am coming from. Like you, I am the one in the family with a camera and 99% of my shots are normally like that even without pp. So, whenever you see my posts, you know that a lot of hard work went into them. I really do like that dress.

I have no issues whatsoever with any and all feedback. I was quite surprised that she liked that photo as much as she did. I guess it just goes to show that everyone sees photos differently.

The shot was 100% candid because he was giving her the corsage... I was just being a bit sneaky. ;-)

Thank you for taking the time to express your opinion!

My stepson, Skylar, and his Junior Prom date, Chumani.

They make a very cute couple! I don't usually do portraits of any kind, but since I'm the guy in the family with the camera.... ;-)

This was his Mom's favorite. She called it "artistic".

After going through my photos from our Southern California vacation last month, I found this one that I really like. Maybe not my best shot, but it really grabbed my attention.

Our U.S. Coast Guard practicing their maneuvers in San Diego Harbor. So happy to have captured this!

Definitely a sign of the times... everything's disposable now. I can absolutely 100% assure you those plastic cups found their way to a proper receptacle instead of being left on the beach! 8-)

Great shot though, shallow DOF, shadow etc

Thank you, JR1. The DOF is what I was going for but, unfortunately, it wasn't applied during the shot. This is from a mobile phone camera, so the effect was done during post-processing.

We currently reside in Wisconsin, but I grew up in San Diego, CA. Last month, we took a vacation out there to visit family and spent a little time at the beach. This simple picture ended up being one of my favorites from the entire trip!

I don't believe there's any exif data in this shot, so if anyone's interested in knowing what I used to shoot and process it, just ask! You might be surprised.
