Thanks for all of the comments. I only work on an Apple Mac. Easier for me since I am not great with computers.

I recently received Adobe Elements 2020 as a gift. I am currently using Elements 2011 for many years. I do not store any photos in Elements. My question is should I remove the 2011 edition from my computer before installing the 2020 version.

I have a huge problem I do not know what to do. I have been taking photos for more than 25 years. I have in excess of 50k photos. I originally was storing them in iPhoto, and transferring them onto an external hard drive. Then Apple stopped supporting iPhoto in favor of Photo. I still stuck with iPhoto and did not do the upgrades Apple pushed for. I kept most of the photos on my external drive, memory cards and thumb drives. Now I have a critical mess. My goal is to eliminate many photos and organize them in one place with one plan. I was hoping to hear how other people are handling and cataloging their photos. Granted, like most people I may never look at 50% of these ever again, but I still have a hard time deleting them. So please share with me your ideas and what has worked for you. The simpler the better, as I am a bit older and not terribly computer savvy. I know it will be time-consuming but I can slowly work way through it, if I just have a plan.
Thanks,
Ken

Just returned from river cruise Budapest to Prague. My advice as others is to travel light. I carried my Canon 5d Mark iii and a 24-105 lens. It got very heavy by the end of the trip. We walked between 3-8 miles a day. I saw enough churches for a lifetime. If I every do something like this again I will have a mirrorless camera which is less than half of the weight. I also found that the tours with the cruise line did not allow enough time for me to explore and photograph the way I like to. Just shoot a lot and edit when you get home. Have a great time.

There are lots of photo ops at VT. Spend a lot of time there. The War Memorial at sunset is always a favorite. GO HOKIES !

Canon 5d mark iii. 24-105 lens. Lens was wide open f 4. Which I guess makes a narrow field of focus. Shooting aperture priority, so the exposure is several seconds. I also used a cable release. I think I did it all right, apparently I didn't. I'm going to try again tomorrow, perhaps I was just having a bad day.
Thank you to all who responded.

I am currently at Disney attempting to get night photos. I am using a tripod, turning off my auto focus to manual, turning off my stabilizer, focusing manually, however 90% of the photos are not the tack sharp image we all strive for. Can anyone give suggestions on how I can improve my results.
Thank you

We were in Yellowstone two years ago. Fantastic place. Wildlife active early AM and late PM. Really didn't get dark until about 10pm. No matter how much time you are there it is not enough. If you go to the Tetons hike up to Inspiration Point, bring water and snacks. Fabulous view. Have a great time.

Best option is to buy a separate hard drive and transfer from your mac to the new drive. Leave the old drive intact. Unless you are computer savvy (and I am not) mine got all messed up when I tried to do it. Best of luck

Found this Barn in southern Utah

I would love to know the history. Who built into? Purpose? It is rather tall. How old? All of these barns have a personality. I find them so interesting. This is a great photo.

My wife is always looking for Christmas gifts for the guy that has everything, so I thought I would suggest this might be something Santa could shop for. You are lucky to escape NJ, hoping to do that myself in the near future, Sixty years here and I cannot afford to live here if I stop working. I strive to get quality photos like you have. It is a work in progress for me.

I've liked mine. Hope you are satisfied with it if you go that route.

Thank you for the compliment; it is much appreciated. I do need to do some work on the website though. I have a number of new images to add.

BTW, although I moved to California in the early 60's I am originally from Wanaque, NJ (Passaic County).

Thanks for the information. From reading it seems like the Cam Ranger will be a good choice. BY THE WAY I looked at your website, very nice photos. Thanks again.
