Did a month long Trans Atlantic cruise in November with lots of tours thrown in. Didn't want to carry my heavy DSLR and lenses so used my Canon SX 50. Light weight and easy to carry around. Got fabulous shots - did a scrap book, a slide show and enlarged some for my walls. You can't lose. It will go to Iceland at the end of March and Morocco/Amsterdam in May/June.

Can anyone tell me how long an SD card can last or how often can the same one be used?
I always format my card after I have downloaded the images to my computer. I think some of my cards may go back four years.
When travelling and taking lots of pictures, I change the card weekly. I now have the capability of downloading to my iPad for back up.

If I hadn't been changing my cards every 5 days, I would have lost the other 2500 images. I was very fortunate to have caught it in time.

When travelling, I change my SD card every 5 days. As I left Athens, my SD card showed an error so I immediately put in another one. Returning home, I had the card looked at ($89) which had to be paid whether or not the files could be retrieved or not.
I want to do my usual iPhoto or Blurb memory book but as Athens was my first stop, that part will be blank. Thought I might download a pencil sketch into the book with text saying what happened.
Would anyone know a web site that I could get a sketch from?

I am a newby as you can tell. Looked under the menu mode and started pressing buttons. Looks like under the converter, if I press TC-DC58B, and also under the WC-DC58A, I get the jiggly hand and T, but when I press 'off', I only get the jiggly hand. I don't even know what the converter is. Can you help?
