Nice shot and you better drive fast under that tree. We had our storm here in NJ this past summer, Irene.

I wanted to try my hand at taking a long exposure picture and had the opportunity the other night. It was totally dark out so I tried multiple shots at different exposure times all the way up to 15 seconds. I then combined 3 or 4 photos into Photomatix HDR for this result.

I just purchased from Amazon the following items to clean my sensor. After a lot of research I decided on these 2 products. Haven't received them yet but am looking forward to trying it. I use my builtin sensor cleanor on my D7000 but it still has some spots on it.
LensPen SKLK-1 Camera Cleaning Kit
Digital Survival KIT - Sensor Swab Type 2 (w/Eclipse)

Here's some information on sharpness from kenrockwell.com. Makes sense to me.
Camera images become unsharp because of:

MOTION

If you see sharpness that seems greater or weaker in one direction than another, it's probably caused by motion.

Subject Motion

People move. Kids move. Everything moves. Blow up to 100% and even small amounts of motion lead to lacks of sharpness. Look at something motionless.

Camera Motion

Hands jiggle. Tripods get blown in the wind. This smears the entire image.

VR and IS attempts to reduce this when hand-held.

Slight blur that will be invisible in prints may be significant when enlarged to 100% on-screen.

SMALL APERTURES and DIFFRACTION

Apertures of f/8 and smaller blur the image due to diffraction. Anytime you look or photograph through small holes you get diffraction. Squint your eyes - that's diffraction! Look or photograph through a screen window or through a small f/stop and you get the equivalent of a soft-focus filter.

If you change to another lens does it still have a focus problem, if it doesn't it's the lens that's the problem.

I use Elements9 and I tried LR3 and didn't like the importing and cataloging part of it. I just couldn't get used to it and stopped using it. I'm back to PSE9.

I had the same problem when I tried to install OnOne software. Said I needed a gl video card capatability. That means your video card needs to be updated. I went to Staples got a new video card installed it and OnOne worked.

Yes, it's the person behind the camera that maters allot but if that person has some photographic ability and has a quality camera and lens it certainly will help. Today I shot my grandson's football game with a 300mm Nikon zoom lens. Your not going to tell me a point and shoot camera is going to capture the same action shots up close.

If it wasn't on Yahoo news I'd think it was a joke. You couldn't find a better way to spend $4 million dollars.

So from what I've been reading on this post which has been very helpfull by the way, LR3 stores and cataloges all your photos after you import them and process them. Right now I use PS Elements9 and after I am finished with my processing cycle I always clear all nmy pictures off my computer and back them up on an external drive.

So it seems to me after reading these posts that LR3 keeps all those thousands of pictures you imported on my computer's hard drive. That's alot of space being used up for many pictures that I won't be going back to on a regular basis.
