Reuters Issues A Worldwide Ban On Raw Photos

I was always told that images taken for legal/insurance putposes had to be RAW so that the original image is always available as well as all processing steps recorded, How else to prove the provenance of a published image?

Having a Stroke

In u.k. we have the acronym FAST. Face, Arms, Speech, Time. Does the Face slump. Can you raise the Arms. Is Speech slurred. Time is of the essence.

Print your own passport photo

Not really useful but in the UK, fill in the on line form, take a photo attach the digital image and submit. If not suitable then you're told. You can then take a second image and resubmit. Simple and works a treat!

Plane Crash

I believe modern airliners are required to be capable of being evacuated in 90 seconds even if half the emergency exits are blocked. Also good crew training to minimise panic.

In the first image it looks as if towing hitch is above the centre line of the rear axle. All too easy for "tractor" to read up if trailer hits a snag. Speaking as an ex Massey Ferguson apprentice.

Holy Land Camera Choice

I found the Sony surprisingly large & heavy compared with my Lumix. Better than a DSLR and a bag full of lenses though. Great images.

Lightweight camera with long zoom needed

I have the Lumix. Good images esp from some of the presets (e.g.through glass). Don't go beyond f8 tho'- get artefacts. Enjoy the trip

Should we get permission to photograph people?

In many countries e.g. Ethiopia it is belief that you are capturing the subjects soul. It is only common courtesy to ask. If they say no,walk away. You may not have the photo but you will have the memory

Graham, 2 things from someone who lives about 45 degrees down and to the left.
1 You need a bigger plate to stop the gravy overflowing.
2 Does Mrs. T make extra Yorkshire to have as pudding with golden syrup.
