There are a bunch of us out here that will know this one.
And there will be some younger up-starts who are clueless.

Never used Windows 98. The whole time Windows 98 was main stream I used Windows NT 4.0. Windows 95 and Windows 98 are the two OS's that are most difficult to run on a modern PC. More difficult than DOS or Windows 3.1.

I used to like DOS. At least, I understood it.

I still have Windows 98 SE on an old laptop. Great program; never had a problem with it.

DOS commands can still be useful in Windows 10.

And one told the computer what one wanted done...
The computer didn't keep providing "suggestions".

I'm at least DOS 2.0 old.....

The problem is with trying to run it on a new computer. It's easier to run DOS on a new computer than Windows 95 or 98.

PC DOS and IBM DOS are the same. MS-DOS is another version. So the question should be PC-DOS or MS-DOS. In the early days the PC-DOS used the part of Basic what is in the ROM BIOS while MS-DOS has the entire Basic on disk. Also the last update of DOS was PC-DOS 2000 which was released in 2000 which no longer has any Basic but has a version or IBM REXX language.

Yeah, I'm old enough that I remember 3.1 and 95. And I'm 72.
