Most telemarketers I get drop off when someone physically is not answering. On my recording, I say that if it is important, please leave a message and I will get back to you. I get very few calls on my landline anymore, and even fewer I need to call back.

Your link goes nowhere. I went to the site to try to find it using search, and the info you posted was incorrect. And I really wanted to see this. Thought you'd want to know.

Looks like a spam email to me. I see these all the time and ignore them.

A key would be to look at the email address that sent it to you.

Hope that helps.

but I'm too close, I can't read it.

A few years ago, I used to watch a fun show on History Channel (I believe) that had astrophysicist Travis Taylor (along with a few family members and friends) on it called "Rocket City Rednecks", where they did some background engineering to accomplish fun tasks in their yard for entertainment. One of this things they used to say, rather often, was "Safety Third." I don't remember what they meant, but I remember it because it sounded funny, but it had a good purpose.

So... Safety Third.

Has any body noticed how the neck ties have INCREASED in length! The ties are now down to the bottom of a pants zipper. Is it suppose to be a new fashion statement, or a handy tinkle wipe? malvin

Increased in length? I'm 6' 2" tall, and I have trouble finding a good looking tie that goes down to my beltline!! Where do you find the "superlong" ties?

Yeah, that third one at the gas pump must have been taken in prehistoric times.

After all that complaining about the years long drought, I bet the reservoirs are filling up, which should relieve the water restrictions.

The heavy rains shouldn’t come as any surprise, nearly every drought is broken by deluges. In 2004 in north central Missouri we had a super dry summer. Cracks in the ground wide enough to put my wrist in. The drought was broken on Labor Day when I had at least 13.25” in less than 24 hours. I say at least because my 6” rain gauge ran over.

Actually, with the rather severe droughts we've been having, it will take more than a few deluges to recover from the drought. First, the water needs to get back in and refill the ground water depleted. With the ground hardened over the years, it gets harder for it to seep back in, and takes a little longer. I hope I am mistaken, but it will still be awhile before we are out of the woods. But Earth has been doing that for millions and a few billion years, so we should be okay in a while.

Hello,
Planning to visit Phoenix in mid-March for 2 1/2 days to watch some of the games. I’m interested in photography as well as videography. Just curious:
1) do they allow cameras (Nikon Z6) and lenses (24-120mm f4 or 70-200 f2.8 or 300 f2.8 + TC’s) into the ballparks?
2) how close do spectators get to players?
3) if sitting in the outfield (grassy areas from what Google shows me), can you bring in a monopod or tripod?
Thank you,
Stephen

Many ballparks/arenas forbid cameras with replaceable lenses, as they are "for the professional photographers". And you may be asked to take it back to your car. You will need to check with the place you plan to go and use it. Pocket cameras and cell phone cameras usually are not a problem.

You will also need to do the same for using a monopod or tripod at the venue, as they will interfere with other visitors there. My guess is you will probably be told no on those, but it never hurts to ask first.

Asking the venue first is always the safest way to do it, and making note of who you spoke to and in what department in case there is an issue when you get there.

Hope it works out for you.

Murphy was asleep on his couch when I started making this pot of Chili

My Recipe : 1#: Ground Chuck

2: Bell peppers ,1 green, 1 orange chopped
1 303 can Tomato sauce
Salt, garlic powder, chili powder, cinnamon, red pepper flakes and sweetener.
Brown meat in skillet with bacon grease season with everything above except sweetener
Wilt onions and bell peppers in bacon grease season like the meat, add meat , tomato sauce and beans with canning juice to pot and bring to boil lower heat to Lo and let simmer.then add sweetener to taste or not.
I don't have to watch the pot , Murphy come and bugs me every five mine or so, I ask him what he want, and he goes to the kitchen and looks at the pot.
The pot is cooling down now Murphy is still watching the pot But he don't like the camera so when I get near he watched me and the camera
Guess who likes Chili br Murphy was asleep on his ... (show quote)

Great recipe, except for the ground chuck. I can't do beef. Chicken or pork, yes. Beef, no, unfortunately.

Wow. I thought that someone was including a recipe (or a link to one). Slightly disappointed.

Just to say, Chicken chili sounds fantastic. My wife cannot do beef unless I want to take her to the hospital. Pork chili might be good, but I'd have to find some to try first.

Did you ever try to tell them to connect you with a person who has English as their first language? It always takes several requests before they put you on hold to reconnect you. That usually works, not not always. Sometimes you just have to hang up and hopefully on next call you will get someone that understands you and you understand them.

Unfortunately, many of those call centers are in other countries, where is almost no one who speaks English as their first language. So, get used to that. But that's business, ex=specially in this country nowadays. No one can afford to do their business from the USA, they take it elsewhere, so, I'm sorry to say, it doesn't cost them as much to do the work.

Most umps in MLB are consistent. If the pitch is at the chest level, which should according to definition be a strike, the ump calls it a ball consistent with the TV Strike Zone Box.

I'm sorry, but I beg to differ with you. Watching games on TV, I see umpires regularly calling strikes on pitches that come nowhere near the plate or "defined" strike zone. They also regularly call balls for pitches that were clearly over the plate and "in the box". Also, umpires tend to be very inconsistent. But there are, fortunately, only a few umpires that seem to call balls and strikes differently for certain hitters, some good for them, and some bad for them.

I believe that those are the reasons that they keep threatening to use a "robot" umpire to call balls and strikes. To me, the calls are too inconsistent, and get worse when the game is on the line. It really is a shame. Consistently good umpiring used to be a trademark of baseball. But not anymore. At least not to me, I am sorry to say.

I don't think so. It would be like putting my photos out in the cloud, which is not what I seek to do. But thank you.
