Nice pictures. We passed all around the Great Lakes this past Fall and watched those big ships go through the Locks, quite interesting but simple too
I spent 10 weeks there in the summer of 2013 in our RV. My 11-22mm got the most workout. There is a lot of wildlife so having a body with your favorite long lense always ready is the best thing. Wildlife sightings usually come quick so you have to be ready. I also had a waterproof point and shoot on my belt everyday because the weather can change quickly. I left Alaska feeling like I really wouldn't change anything when I was going back again.
Me and my wife are currently traveling in a 20' Class B all around the US. This is our 6th trip and our longest. We've been on the road 14 weeks and have traveled over 10,000 miles. We did 10 weeks in 2013 to Alaska from So Cal and that was 11,500 miles. For traveling/sightseeing there is no better way. I own a Class A Motorhome too that I still use to Camp in. This is 1/2 the cost and so much easier to get around because I can park in a regular parking spot. To me that's the key to downsizing, buy one that can park anywhere and you'll be glad you did rather than have extra room . As you can see we still have a long way to go and we are still happily married !!
Nice pictures, we camped there in the summer of 2013. Our highlight was our Campsite had a fish cleaning station and every afternoon the fish guts dumpster was loaded with Bald Eagles. Funny part was they would pick through the Halibut carcass's to find the Salmon. Plus out neighbor owned a Charter and gave us a whole plate if cooked halibut one night and a bag for the freezer the next night!
That's a really cool image !
Nice shots of a cool Bridge !
All those old mining roads all over The San Juan's are really awesome. Looks like you had a nice trip with some nice pictures too! Now I'm retired it's on my radar to go back for about a month and travel them all ! For anyone interested Funtrek Books sells a really good book that details all the roads and rates how much experience you need etc plus you are guided with odometer readings and explanations along the way. I highly recommend the book.
We just did that cruise a month ago or so. Pretty nice out there for sure ! Looks like you got some nice shots. !
Nice shots Erv ! We just spent a week searching out 30 of them in Vermont. Do you use CoveredBridgesMap.com ? We found them way easier using it
I just left for. 6 month vacation and did a photo inventory of everything I own including all my vehicles etc. I feel better knowing if something happened the pictures would help jog my memory when dealing with our insurance.
We are heading to VT Monday near the bottom and driving Route 100 basically with some side trips all the way to the top. Fall Colors haven't arrived yet but hopefully soon ! It's getting colder at night for sure. We hope it's a great year for color as we have drove all the way from So Cal in our RV to see what the Northeast has to offer .
We seen all those kinds of things at Anchorage's Market downtown. Really puts it's size into perspective. Last summer we spent 10 weeks and drove our RV from So Cal to Fairbanks and back. 11,500 miles and the best trip we have ever taken, plans to go back already in the making !
Nice images considering you shot out of the Cog Railway . We just drove our Class B Motorhome to the top about a month ago. First time up for us and it was worth it! I've watched them Race up there forever on videos, news etc but now I can say I really know what they encounter.
