When you are looking at an image in your editor you are looking at the full size image.

When exporting the image as a JPEG, it might end up looking different if it is resized to save space, depending on the amount of detail present. It can also make a difference in the print.

The next post shows three different sizes of the same finely detailed high contrast B&W image. You might see the difference in the thumbnails.

If you download the images and look at them without pixel peeping, you can see how much resizing altered the appearance of the image. The difference also shows up when I print the three images.

My Nikon D7100 has suffered a chipped door to the memory card compartment. Pricing a repair by Nikon it is comparable to purchasing a similar used body from KEH or MPB plus shipping to Nikon. I am tempted to step up to a D7200 for ~$100 more, largely for an improvement in ISO performance and wireless capability.

For a bit more I am also considering a Zfc. I know this would require also purchasing the FTZ adapter. Lookopng on line I am left wondering what functionality I would lose with this upgrade. I have several Nikon lenses:

18-135mm
18-200mm
70-300mm
35mm f1.8
50mm f1.8

Currently my workhorse lens is the Tamrom 18-400mm and I also have a Tamron 10-24. How would these function with the Zfc?

As we know Adobe has been integrating more and more AI features into Photoshop generative fill and has upgraded Firefly, its AI generating program, to Version 3. In the latest release of Photoshop beta it is now possible to generate a multiple layer composite image using only verbal commands. Generative Fill and Generative Expand, both AI functions, allow us to add AI images to photographs easily and Generative Expand allows us to expand the borders of a photograph with the push of a button.

Topaz Labs Gigapixel AI, DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI and Photo AI use Artificial Intelligence to correct our photographic mistakes. These have become accepted Post Processing steps and are no longer mentioned in photo descriptions yet are truly AI modified images by definition.

Ugly Hedgehog has guidelines on how and where AI and AI/photograph hybrid images may be posted. I believe it is time to revisit these guidelines. With few exceptions most of us use AI to one degree or another in Post Processing. I believe it is time to allow AI generated images to be posted in any Forum as long they are identified as such.

First of all I have lost count of how much money I have happily spent at BnH. Every single experience I have had at BnH has been positive. Absolutely no complaints from me what so ever. So what's going on now?

I opened a Payboo account. With this account you can buy what you want, and depending on how much you spend you get so many months of interest free payments.

I bought $6200.00 worth of new gear expecting several months to pay it off so I wouldn't by paying any interest.

I received my first invoice today from Payboo and they charged me $134.00 in interest.

I am not done with BnH by any means. Since i don't have $6,000 sitting around to pay this off tomorow I guess I have no other option except to withdraw money from my pension account to pay off this balance and say good bye to Payboo.

The OP is poised to disprove your unhappy comment about "AF lenses of today".

As to your choice of old MF lenses for street, plenty of us agree on that. But any compact AF lens with a halfway usable focusing scale can also hold its own for street.

An AF lens without a focus scale depends on the feature set of the camera body to make prefocus or zone focus feasable.

Lets not ignore that theres plenty of street environments where normal AF operation works perfectly with a "short normal" lens such as the OPs new 40. See attached for Worst Case Scenario ... meaning "iphone".

Just to be safe. Check behind the shed in the event that the microwave may gone there with its cigs. Nothing worse than a MW doing up smokes behind the shed.

Serious for the moment. See if you can get someone knowledgeable to check all outlets for possible breaks. This may show up potential problem areas. We had a lightning bolt strike years ago in which the breakers worked like a charm, but did have to replace a lot of electronics that did not survive the jolt.

Some will remember that I recently had a problem with my Microwave oven, after burning another one up.
My neighbor was busy helping his daughter off in another town (moving, I think) and the next night after he got home, he came and looked at it, couldn't find anything wrong with it. Next day, the lights started flickering and the light in my computer room made a LOUD pop and blew out. Kitchen lights went out too. I went out to check the breaker and it was tripped. When I reset it, the breaker popped and everything blew out. The next day, it was already getting dark but he came and checked everything. He didn't find anything in the dark. No electricity for 2 days. He came back to check something outside and said Call Alabama Power. When I called them, he took the phone and told them the service entry cable was broken, hanging by a very thing string and had already been spliced 3 times...I needed a new line run. That fixed some of it but then he found that the breaker to the kitchen was bad and replaced it. Before, the microwave smoked after 30 seconds. I finally tried it again this morning and it didn't smoke.
None of it makes sense to me but it's not supposed to me. I ever really wanted to know anything about electricity. Scares me to death!!!!

MAC vs Windows is a Pepsi vs Coke thing. I have an iPhone for work and personally use an Android and old Samsun Note 9 but it still does what I need. ASUS and ACER are good. I have a DELL for work but it's a lower to mid-grade machine as it costs more for a better CPU and more Memory. Most important what are your specifications and budget? If you want to keep the MAC then go to YouTube and find instructions (if you want) Steve Jobs was a great salesman. I used to drink both Coke and Pepsi and eventually started drinking Coke exclusively. There are many ways to store your photos, but hard drive arrays are expensive. There is Cloud storage which is not cheap either. I would suggest checking all avenues for pricing because sometimes you get better prices for shopping unless the company price fixes. Yes I know its illegal to fix a price but MFRs set a suggest retail price and on occasion offer their product for less and if a store sells it for a lower price that company will no longer sell to them.
