That's why your economists and mine here in the UK are not overly concerned, they are looking at the medium to long term future. Trying to repay debt of this magnitude is impossible in the medium term without destroying the fabric of any nation.

My personal response was initially based on the fact that I was uninformed, like the bulk of the world population, leading to a degree of caution rather than timidity.
As the danger of the v***s became more evident I accept scientific reasoning rather than political pronouncements to modify my response regarding potential contagion - hardly cowardice.
It is indeed time to progress towards an 'after' - I rely again on the intelligence and sk**ls of those developing a v*****e to take us to a safer destination - bravery really doesn't come into it.

Beware weasel worded politicians, on both sides of 'the pond' - they will continue to position their arguments so that it is we, the general public, who are at fault for any future spikes rather than decisions taken by them.

I could not agree more. Many of you may have heard of the dramatic rise in 'knife crime' here in UK.

Although the picture is complex, in many cases the blame can be attached to the attitude fostered by social media.
Years ago when kids were involved in fights the 'loser' often brushed himself off and went home - maybe to have a scrap another day.
Nowadays the quarrel is filmed, broadcast and there is considerable humiliation. Hence the carrying of knives to maintain face.
It then becomes increasingly difficult to dissuade kids from their belief that they are safer if they carry their own knives 'for self defence'.

I am from across the pond - I have absolutely no time for Trump and his policies - I think he does the US great disservice in his foreign relations and lets the American people down, BUT the decorations look fine and First Lady has made effective effort in preparing the White House for Christmas.

My brother is currently working in Hong Kong, when we mentioned this in passing he said the order would have been accepted there with a response, 'What time this afternoon would you like to collect it?'
Still I'm not relying on a delivery company to collect it.
