I wish UPS would take over FedEx. Every time I have had a problem with a delivery, it has been with FedEx. I was expecting a package yesterday, and it needed a signature. Since I was going to be away all day, I requested that it be sent to a local Walgreen's - something FedEx does. I got an email confirming the change, and another saying it was on the truck and out for delivery yesterday. When I went to Walgreen's later in the day, the package wan't there, and they said there were no deliveries on weekends. Going back to the email, it still said it was on the truck for delivery. However, looking more closely, I saw in small, light print, "Delivery on the next business day." They deliver to houses on Weekends, but not to Walgreen's, even though it was on the truck. A three-day delivery will become five or six days. In the future, I'm going to request UPS delivery.

On a more positive note, I ordered a ukulele from Japan. Within one day it went from the shipper to Tokyo, then overnight to NYC. There could be a delay in customs, but still, that's pretty fast.

It seems the problem is not with FedEx, but rather with your eyes.

I guess you should have read their policy rather than assume it before changing your delivery instructions?
That's not new.

I've had similar issues with FedEx, especially since I live on a private road in the country in central Texas. I finally decided to just have my packages sent to my mother's physical address in a nearby city. For those orders that I can have sent to my PO Box, I've had no problems since UPS will deliver to that using their SurePost service. There have been other issues, but that's for another day...

Different attitudes to service.
Especially noticeable in other countries. Example: I live here in England and have just ordered a 'made to measure mirror' not especially huge. It will be ready 'In about 2 weeks'.
My brother is currently working in Hong Kong, when we mentioned this in passing he said the order would have been accepted there with a response, 'What time this afternoon would you like to collect it?'
Still I'm not relying on a delivery company to collect it.
How do you always get to the head of all posts I read Jerryc41? Are you awake 24 hours!!!

Jerry, I agree and sympathize with your problem. The main thing that I HATE about FedEx (and sometimes UPS) is their sending some packages to the "nearest FedEx depot (Tampa and I live in Clearwater) then it gets dumped into the US Postal system for "final delivery". Our US Postal employee would have to gain about 400 points in IQ to be readable. I've had packages from B&H delivered to businesses 2 miles away rather than to my house.. (the business opened the package and fortunately mailed it to me and I got it 3 weeks later). The sad thing is that I am a 20 minute drive from the FedEx main center in Tampa and there are 3 FedEx offices for shipping and receiving within 5 miles of my house. Also, when searching for the package, FedEx in Tampa gave me a phone number of the "local post office to search for misdirected packages" and it required a pin number after being answered. B&H was nice enough to offer to reship the several hundred dollars worth of filters.. but by then I had received the "original" package re-mailed by the local business (on their dime). Now I instruct my vendors to ship everything UPS Express and "DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES" ship it in anyway that may cause it to go to a US Post Office.

I have had three (3) shipments lately where FedEx sent an email saying that the delivery had been made. In each case, no such delivery had occurred and FedEx had no ideal where the item was then located. In two of the instances, the deliveries were each made three (3) days later; in the last case, the shipper had already begun to reproduce the item - a photo enlargement from WHCC - and the first item was delivered five (5) days after it was stated to be delivered. FedEx has no idea why these errors are occurring.

Hard to believe, but for Amazon the most reliable delivery seems to be the good old USPS.

Have used USPS for years on all my Ebay, as do most sellers on eBay apparently. Faster and cheaper than either UPS or Fedex. My only damaged package ever, was Fedex. Didn't get a dime on insurance. Couldn't jump through all the hoops on their time line.
