Thank you, exactly what I get. I like to load to desktop, open in Picasa, and get rid of the real dogs before I load them into LR5. guess that's no longer an option.
Thank you again.

Why don't you install and use Zoom Browser that came with your Canon 5DIII - Its a great utility - weed out the losers - keep the keepers and save to a folder

Or, "if a tree falls in the woods and my wife doesn't hear it am I still wrong?"

Ummm yes you are I'm afraid - if she says you are wrong YOU ARE WRONG and if you argue with her then that's a start of a whole new argument that you will also be wrong about.

Just learn to say "Yes dear" in 7 different tones and do what you want anyway.

Which raises a more fun question, If you weren't you, who would pay for your gear?

If I wasn't me I'd still shoot Canon and who cares who'd pay as long as I got the goods

By Euclidean geometry Parallel Lines DO NOT ever meet, by definition, that is what parallel means. Only in perspective viewing do they APPEAR to meet, like train tracks in the distance, but train tracks, when you go to the point on the horizon where they appear to meet, are still separate. It is only an illusion. Only in modern times did Einstein and others postulate that maybe they do meet, in a curved universe all returns to the starting point, like straight rays of light...also that you could draw more that one line through a point outside a line parallel to the line. Which is physically impossible...but mathematically explains relativity, which has been proven. Clear?

Ooohhh thats pretty heavy - bit like "if I wasn't me who would I be"

Now that's a great idea. I wonder where they came up with that name. It seems like it could be pronounced "exhume."

EDIT: I just ordered the 77mm set. They have a limited assortment of sizes.

Hi Jerry - mine are 77mm - you'll love em especially when you go from UV to CP and back again etc - hope you enjoy them

Was wondering about keeping a UV , etc. filter on the front of my lenses for protection. I have always done this and only use Hoya or Tiffen but lately I was concerned as to whether any filter detracts from getting best sharpness. Have been taking pics for many years like this and sometimes question this. I don't think any of my filters ever really provided any protection as I can't recall striking my lens against anything that would have caused damage. What's your opinion.

Hi Jerry - I do alot of night photography (cityscape) and beach photography - screwing filters on and off is a pain in the bum but if I leave them on you get light reflections bouncing around inside the lens. I now use the XUME quick release magnetic filter adapters - they are quick and brilliant

ha you are funny. sorry it pi$$ es me off when people think that taking on clients is as easy as clicking the shutter button. It pi $$es me of that photographers take advantage of the public. just because you own a camera does not mean you can or should take on clients. if you have to come to a photography forum and ask what settings, how to meter for skin types and what lens to use..... you have NO business taking on 1 client let alone 5.

Have you seem the crap people are turning out and calling professional photography? sigh..... learn the basics, get a great understanding of your equimpent then maybe start thinking of portfolio building.

Annie Girl give people a break and be helpful
Ring your doctor and book yourself in for an optorectimy operation - it only takes ½ an hour.
Basically it is an operation that severs the cord connecting your eyes to your ar**ole thus removing your shitty outlook on life

I have been getting a number of replies to a recent post complaining that it is rubbish and a total waste of time so I thought that in future, so that those people can differentiate and therefore preserve their preciousness, I will prefix any post with "W/R (s)", "(s)" meaning that it is a serious subject and "W/R (s)" where the "(s)" denotes a posting which is intended to be just a bit of a stir. What do you think? Rob.

Please don't warn us that you are going to be a dick head - I haven't laughed so much since the aussies did the underarm bowl so we couldn't beat them. I was cracking up at those that bit and some of them bit hard. I read every page.

I'd like to purchase a photo vest. Domke and Tamrac makes them. What do those who wear them recommend?
Thankx

I have a Domke and a Kalahari - the Domke I use in winter as it is heavier, warmer and has removable sleeves. The Kalahari I use in summer - it is sleeveless. I enjoy them both and very rarely go out without one of them.
The first vest I tried was a Kilwell fishing vest and is very lightweight - it just doesn't carry as much as the other 2

Haha - maybe once I finally get a 5DIII I may let him play with the 5D - they're not worth much in monetary terms here in NZ - I have thought of getting him a point and shoot as he is interested - luckily for my pocket his older brother is not.

To a degree.................

Like many I grew up with film, I still have Nikkormat FTn and Praktica Super TL, but I have not lost the art of planning, I don't shoot at 6/8/10 fps just because it is there.

I was on the beach a week back when Mr flash turned up with a Top end canon, and 500mm Canon lens shooting surf, He was shooting at 10FPS, I was shooting at 3, not because I could not shoot faster, but why need I, I know the sport, know where to shoot and when, I plan.

And that is my point JR1 - you have the machine gun trigger but don't use it - you plan - this weekend woke me up to "PLAN"

who ended up with more keepers ???

Hahahaha - The wife got more keepers because she took 221 shots - I only got 19 keepers - Don't get me wrong I'm sticking with digital and will blaze away at the motor races but it was interesting how I thought hard before pushing the button.

Well - I went away with my wife for a break - I left my 5D and 5DII at home as I was collecting my old film camera from my niece who has now gone digital. (Cabin luggage was tight)
It is a Minolta Dynax 7xi with a quartz data back. (Good camera in it's day) I put in a new battery and film and because I knew I had 24 shots and they were going to cost me to develop I was careful.
My wife had her Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ30 - she took 221 photos and I took 19
This really made me realize how lazy I have become with the advent of digital - It's time I started thinking about the shot rather than just click away - anyone else out there with a machine gun digital finger - I will also add that the 19 shots I took didn't need the cropping etc as the shots were planned better.
