This is the most recent. I haven't heard about it happening in the past. But it's now VERY high profile about the use (or abuse) of diplomatic immunity.
Do you think she should come back (be sent back) to face trial?

Now, lets tell you WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. It happened in England, outside RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire ilast August. The name of the woman driving is Anne Sacoolas and she k**led Harry Dunn. She claimed Diplomatic Immunity based on the job her husband was doing. The Crown Procecution Service have charged her with causing Death by Dangereous Driving. According to everyone the Immunity ceased once she was back on US soil. The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo turned down the extradition request last Thursday.
Now what's your opinion?

The point (at the moment) is that she k**led someone and the attempt at extradition has been refused.
Is that fair?

I'm not sure I made it clear that this took place in America.

Despite being in the UK, I subscribe to a lot of international news sites, inclusing American ones.

I came across the following news story, and wonder what you would make of it?

Apparently a British Intelligence agent and his wife were posted to work on an American Base. Don't ask me why, the word 'intelligence' says it all to me.

So the item went, the wife took the car to go to the nearest town, and left the base on the wrong side of the road.

She then collided with a bicyclist coming towards her (on the correct side of the road).

The bicyclist died at the scene.

She spoke to the police when they arrived and promised not to leave the country.

A couple of days later, she left the country with her husband, claiming diplomatic immunity.

The local police determined that they wanted to charge her with vehiclular homicide, and asked the authorities to ask for her extradition.

The British Foreign Office refused.

Can I have your opinion of this situation?

Qualcomm say their next phone would have a 200 megapixel camera. Ouch. Just how much memory would they need to put into it, or would they be permitting super size memory cards?

https://www.cnet.com/news/qualcomm-your-next-phone-could-have-an-enormous-200-megapixel-camera/?ftag=CADc15b6ba&bhid=23027768183866636026268507979080

Somehow, I hope our cameras aren't going to have an inferiority complex.

Could you imagine having to post process such a monster?

Can you please explain exactly what you define as a "liberal"?
We have the same term over here but, as I understand it, has very little in common with an American "liberal". So I would like to know where we are starting from.

As a matter of curiosity, are you a Republican?
In the rest of the world we have an interest in both home and international affairs, including the twists and turns of the American e******n system AND the behaviour of both Democrats and Republicans.
No one is dissing your government, you are welcome to it.

In the course of trawling the internet I came upon this:
“When a candidate for public office faces the v**ers he does not face men of sense; he faces a mob of men whose chief distinguishing mark is the fact that they are quite incapable of weighing ideas, or even of comprehending any save the most elemental — men whose whole thinking is done in terms of emotion, and whose dominant emotion is dread of what they cannot understand. So confronted, the candidate must either bark with the pack or be lost... All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
― H.L. Mencken

Somehow, and I really can't remember how, I seem to have subscribed to the Tea Party's email list.
Without wanting to offend anyone (and no doubt will) is the hysteria that it displays really an example of how the GOP behaves, or is it just a small proportion of them?
I want to get on the Democratic list to see how they behave.
No snide comments about UK politics please, it's hard enough being on this side of the Atlantic as it is.

I seen a head line entitled "Why not to use micro sd cards in a digital camera" is that correct or is it OK. My current camera uses CF cards, however I am purchasing one that uses sd cards

On my 7200, I tried a micro SD card in the adaptor supplied with it, and all I got was a blank rectangle without a "2" in it. (Number 1 slot is a full size SD card). So it doesn't seem to like that combination.

Happy Holidays or Merry Xmas (or whatever).
And greetings to those who celebrate festivals of older religions.

At this time of the year there's a lot of reminiscing that takes place.
My thoughts suddenly hit on photos that got away, either because I had run out of film, or didn't (or couldn’t) use a camera.

For me, two particular examples stand out.

1. I was on my home, and the plane was approaching London Heathrow, and I looked out my window and saw Buckingham Palace below me. I'd used up all my film and could only look. This was pre 9/11 and I've never seen it again. They use a different route now.

2. I was on my way to work and there was a full moon in the daytime sky. I could also see a plane up there. Just then, the plane started turning, and for a moment the plane coincided with the moon. Think of witches on broomsticks, or E.T. This was before dashcams, so I only have the memory to relish.

So, are there any really interesting scenes that you couldn't photograph for one reason or another?
