I just had to share. Two years ago I joined our local camera club and was in our beginner B Group. Last night we had our annual banquet and found out not only that I had the highest points in my group but also was Photographer of the Year for the entire club. They said it was the first time that someone from B Group took the top honors. I have now graduated to the Salon or Group A. I am so excited!

"And the lights all went out in Massachusetts" is a well known line from The Bee Gees song. Now we know why...MaryAnn's face was enough to light up the whole city. Well done and maybe we should use another Bee Gees title now..."More than a woman"....she's a photographer, lol.

You ask "WHY" jerry, well try reading the following link, especially some of the comments below the description of the place. I think one of them from a guy called Krazyk is what a few would agree with. Anyway, heres the link:-

"Is this love that I'm feeling"...Well it sure seems that he is, and he also looks like he's singing the Bob Marley classic. Fabulous shot and perhaps to use one of the Reggae song writers quotes sums up the expression of the guy in your picture...

live the life you love.”

Dear Santa,

You know I've been really good this year.

I was wondering if you would please bring me a new 27" calibrated monitor. One of the better Dell models will do, I'm not greedy. I really need it because I can tell my friends on UHH sometimes can see details in photos that I can't see as well on my 21" monitor.

And Santa, I would really like it if you would bring me a new computer to go along with that. One with lots and lots of RAM, a great graphics card and a big fast hard drive.

Santa, it would be so great if you would tuck a Canon EOS 5D Mark III in for me too, with a nice assortment of good lenses to go with it.

One last thing: Please don't forget my stocking, Santa. If you would put a Canon S120 in the toe, and a gift certificate for a lifetime subscription to the CS cloud service, I would be so happy.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful for the new septic drain field you brought me three years ago, or the new floor in the woodshed, or the new hot water heater last year. But really Santa, I know you can do so much better.

Thank you so much in advance. I promise to be even better next year,

Your friend always,
Heirloom Tomato
Dear Santa, br br You know I've been really good ... (show quote)

Dear Heirloom Tomato,
I'm sorry but do you not realise that there is an economic recession still going on that is affecting everyone (including SANTA 1 Warehouse). I do know that you have been very good and do deserve your list, so I will give you the following link which will certainly go some way to making your wish come true. I also seem to have lost your letter, maybe the link will help me find it!
Your friend always,
Santa

The Mammoth Mountain area is one of our favorite spots to spend time so I thought I'd share a bit more of it with you. All photo's were taken with a p/s camera.

Great images RE, it just goes to show, it's the person taking the pics and not the camera. Just an idea, I think you could crop the "Creek filled with wavy grass" and use it in the "Minimalist" comp.

Thank you 1066, that is very interesting. I like the background you added. I'm am having a real hard time in choosing the one for the portrait. Thank you for your grand effort.
Margo

Best of luck Margo with whichever you choose, but how about having two! I've horizontally rotated the one I sent so perhaps you could have one side by side, or you could get one of us to rotate one of the others that you like. I hope you like this idea.

Hi, my UHH friends. This is a picture of my late husband, which I would very much like to have framed. I do not have the skills or the programs to make this a printable photo. I wonder if some of my friends on UHH could please apply some magic touch to save this photo. The plants in the back are tomato plants which he helped me to grow. I love this photo because it is the best expression of him that I have. I thank you very much for considering this.

Hi Photogirl, I thought you might like to keep the tomato plants, so I enlarged the image to fill the background after masking in Topaz ReMask. I hope you like it.

Maybe it's just me 'cuz it's still early and I haven't had dinner yet, but is there a definite leftward lean to the horizon? Other than that, I think I agree that the pp took it just a couple of clicks too far.

Naa, I've taken another look and I think the opposing rise in ground makes it look like it's leaning to the left, so...go and get some dinner and look again (fingers crossed).

Hey, I am glad you let me zoom in on it 1066. I like the image right away, but I wanted to check and see if your focus was sharp before I commented. It is. You've got nice leading lines, and interesting coastline, and it looks like it goes on forever. I like the windmills in the image too. Lots of detail.
