An interview with 1066
Firstly I have to apologise for my late reply due to being away for the weekend. You can't imagine how blown away I was when I logged into UHH and wondered why I had three personal messages! This is the first time I have ever won any photography competition. So thank you to all the people who voted for my entry and given the quality and knowledge of fellow UHH's please believe me I am over the moon!
Anyway here's my replies to your questions:-
1)How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I have only really got into photography in the last three years, I decided to take the plunge and buy a Sony Alpha A230 DSLR which I bought brand new and still boxed from someone on ebay which was an unwanted gift(I got it for half the shop price lol). Having only used a few point and shoot camera's I thought I would try and improve my family portrait and landscape photography, and I've found UHH invaluable....mmm...well it's certainly helped on this occasion!
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
None whatsoever, I have learned various shooting styles and techniques through youtube and online Webinars. I really like taking Landscape shots and close up portraits.
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
In my back garden there is a Japanese Maple acer and several of its leaves were lying on the ground. It was easy choosing the leaf I used simply because of its colour.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I used the Sony Alpha I mentioned and placed the leaf onto a piece of white printer paper which I converted to black in photoshop.
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
Mmmm....definitely not...it won lol.
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
It would still be my current profession as a paramedic. It is a bit like photography...different everyday.

I started when I was in high school. And was a photographer in the USMC. I worked for a photography studio for about a year, but then went to college, got married, and gave up photography by the time I was 25. Took it up again when I retired at the age of 61.
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
Just recently I took a couple of classes locally.
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
Just like the shot, and took it.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Nikon D7000 18-300mm Nikor lens
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I would have used a macro lens
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Play golf.
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work
