Skylum Luminar AI... Not Working

Well... For those of you who have either bought Luminar AI, considering it.. or Just wondering... I am still having problems with my Luminar AI and Not much help from Tech Support

I download the software back on Dec 8th, and have had No 'Operational function' with the Main Manu:

Contacted their Tech Support on Dec 9th via email.. I am starting to get "P.O.'ed" @ Skylum & Tech Support...

I have requested 'help' via their support email service... I have gotten two responses from them and in EACH case, it has taken either 44 hours or 43.5 hours for them to 'write back to me'

I started my 'Request' on Dec 9, and now, on Dec 13, I still have NO Answers ???

NO... They have Not Solved my problem yet
YES... They can NOT find the 'stuff' you send to them via Dropbox
NO... They DON'T have a Ph# for Tech Support...

All of the above boils down to their 'Tech Support' SUCKS

I have just sent them a 'third' email and will probably have to wait another 44 hours before I hear from them again ???

This is NO way to run a 'Major Software Company' and I am about to ask for my money back........

PS: YES... I have downloaded two additional updates and NO Fix yet... The Entire 'Main Menu' does NOT work for me in Windows 10...

I have also been monitoring their "Luminar and Skylum Issuse" Facebook page and I have notice many, many similar complaints and a lot of very unhappy people

I believe it is time for Skylum to come out with a public announcement admitting their software is NOT ready for 'Prime Time' publication, that it is still 'in Beta' format, and they should beg for the publics understanding....

AND, of course, there will be those where the software does work, and I do understand that is "OK"

Cheers

Skylum Luminar AI... Not Working br br Well... F... (show quote)

You're not alone in this Skylum "Glasshouse", which is crumbling. Had similar situation with them, 3 months ago, the worst Tech Support ever. Will not be upgrading to L4 AI, to me the aggravation is not worth it, sticking with trusty Adobe Lightroom.

Completely agree on this ! Luminar 4, ver 4.1.1 is a disappointment, I stick with Luminar 3 & Aurora with good results. If Luminar 4 is used as a standalone, you're going to experience lag time, when exporting pics, very slow.

Using Luminar 4 on iMac, when used as a stand alone, after changes made to pix, and you try to Export the photo, it crawls, & crawls; slow as hell, takes about 30-50 sec to export 1 JPG from RAW; the worst I have ever seen. Never experience this with any of my other software, just Luminar 4. When I complained to support about this, someone suggested, to use it as a plugin to Lightroom, Photoshop, etc, etc. I tried that and yes, it does give a much quicker response to send pix back to Lightroom, from there you can export it without the 30-50 sec wait that Luminar 4 gives. I have some of their other software(s) that works well;but this has got to be the worst I have seen, mainly when used as a stand alone !

Beware of new Topac Studio 2, has some flaws in it, their support group is aware of this. Issues I am having after download, have no "looks" or Presets showing in right side of screen, all Filters work OK, and when trying to creat a custom look, after using Filters, it goes thru the process, but does not save it to MyLooks folder. Topaz claims they are working on a patch for it, down the road. It does not import your custom looks from TS1,at this time. I volunteered to do the Topaz Stuido 2-Beta, and still some small issues with the Beta, support is aware of my findings, and they are working on patches.
IMO Not the best upgrade from Topaz, regular Topaz Studio, works much better, keeping it on my HD. More to follow as I hear from support on issues, They also have on FB page "Topaz Studio-Beta2 Testing Group" where you can follow with some updates from their Support.

Try Amazon, various brands, non OEM, low prices. I purchased 2 from Amazon for my D750, holds charge very good, last long time.

You have an odd workflow. First, you don't store any thing in Lightroom, you import, and the import only stores information about your image, not the image itself. If you imported your raw files into Lightroom and didn't rename them, delete them, or move them, or the folders they are in, they would be there for to use. Second, any changes you made to your raw files in another program would not be visible in Lightroom, unless you import a file with those changes in a format like TIFF. You would not see those changes in the raw files themselves. Which books on Lightroom have you read or which videos have you seen in order to understand how it works and how to use it?

NIK HDR Efex & Google NIK Collection, can now be used as a stand alone, does not have to be only as a plugin to Adobe software. Check out this link: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/
It's being offered by Google+ FREE of charge. I downloaded the complete collection, and works as a standalone or as plugins.

Thanks for the heads up. The first give away that this is not the actual Adobe website, is the "//helpx.adobe.com" in the url. Adobe never puts "help" files before their name.
