* * Is Skylum Luminar AI Ready for "Prime Time?"

Skylum Luminar AI... Not Working

Well... For those of you who have either bought Luminar AI, considering it.. or Just wondering... I am still having problems with my Luminar AI and Not much help from Tech Support

I download the software back on Dec 8th, and have had No 'Operational function' with the Main Manu:

Contacted their Tech Support on Dec 9th via email.. I am starting to get "P.O.'ed" @ Skylum & Tech Support...

I have requested 'help' via their support email service... I have gotten two responses from them and in EACH case, it has taken either 44 hours or 43.5 hours for them to 'write back to me'

I started my 'Request' on Dec 9, and now, on Dec 13, I still have NO Answers ???

NO... They have Not Solved my problem yet
YES... They can NOT find the 'stuff' you send to them via Dropbox
NO... They DON'T have a Ph# for Tech Support...

All of the above boils down to their 'Tech Support' SUCKS

I have just sent them a 'third' email and will probably have to wait another 44 hours before I hear from them again ???

This is NO way to run a 'Major Software Company' and I am about to ask for my money back........

PS: YES... I have downloaded two additional updates and NO Fix yet... The Entire 'Main Menu' does NOT work for me in Windows 10...

I have also been monitoring their "Luminar and Skylum Issuse" Facebook page and I have notice many, many similar complaints and a lot of very unhappy people

I believe it is time for Skylum to come out with a public announcement admitting their software is NOT ready for 'Prime Time' publication, that it is still 'in Beta' format, and they should beg for the publics understanding....

AND, of course, there will be those where the software does work, and I do understand that is "OK"

Thanks for this post as I was debating whether to buy it today or not since the discounted price is still effective but I'll wait until the bugs get ironed out. I would probably rarely use it anyway.

I may be missing something. I googled for their website and it says I can pre-order for the pending release. In other words, they are saying that it is not ready for prime time. Granted, they are saying it will be released in a couple days. But, not yet. And, it could be that their tech support is working on that, important to them, release.

On my desktop PC it seems to be running a bit slow, which is ok now and hope speed updates will solve this. I hope.
But what really annoys me is that although the links from Photoshop and Lightroom Classic are there, it does not open in Luminar ai after clicking on the link.
To try to keep my Lightroom Classic catalog current, I try to link every app I use from Lightroom Classic. This, at times, can be a pain too.
Somedays I wish for the film days back, even though I know I can do that if I really wanted to... then I come to my senses.

Before you buy, go look at the Facebook page at the below link

The Facebook page is "Luminar and Skylum Issues" and can be found at:

It is a 'private group' and you request to be allowed in, but it should be no problem

Yes, the email I got does say it has not been released yet. I've got 44 hours yet to preorder at the discounted price.

BS...... Yes, your info is pretty much correct but..

I did the pre-order back in July, Followed one of the Beta Testers on youtube who said the 'public release' would be 12/15...

Afterward, the company actually make the software available for some 30K pre-orders via their individual Skylum account... And this was announced by their 'Director on Online Education', Mr. Robert Vanelli on his youtube channel...

I downloaded mine on the 8th of Dec and had problems... Upon reaching out to Tech Support, the problems began...

Also of the above said, NOT a word from the Corporate Headquarters on the issue or problems

"Before you buy...."

I'm firmly entrenched in the Adobe system and am not buying quite yet!

That said, I gave Skylum a little real money awhile back for Photolemur 3. Skylum says, "Photolemur’s AI brain automatically transforms your images from good to great by analyzing millions of details and instantly performing complex adjustments. No photo editing experience? No problem."

It does work and it is fun to see what it does. It may be a dead product because, although still for sale, it is pretty cheap!

YES, it still might be 'Beta', BUT, the company should be 'upfront' with that information in 'full disclosure'

My point is: Don't tell 'paying customers' it is 'ready for download' and NOT say it is 'still beta'

Just say... what is fair, is fair

I paid for the pre-purchase and have been waiting for a couple of months. It better work properly when I get it. I had previously purchased Luminar 4 but couldn’t get it to run on my Windows 7 laptop. That provoked me to go and buy a new Win10 laptop. Skylum support was good and I got a full no hassle refund from them, but I have been waiting patiently for the AI version.
