I have a D7000 with a Nikon 18-200 AF-S 5.6G ED, DX, VR lens. I do mostly Nature & Landscape, love to do close ups of flowers, occassionally take family pictures. My photo's are just not as CRISP (tack sharp) as I would like them. I am not into carrying several lens, can someone suggest a better carry around lens? Maybe I need better glass. Is there such a lens that is FX with a zoom? Sorry to ask so many questions, but you guy's are my only photography friends!! :-D

I have a 8GB SD card that usually hold about 700 shots. Recently it has stop working at about 160 shots, showing as E or demo with a line through it. I have re-formatted SD card. I have discovered if I pop the SD card out and put it back in, it will continue to work. Has anyone else had this problem? (I only have the SD card in slot one no SD card in slot two). I know the simple fix would be to use a new SD card. However, I would like to know if there is a camera issue. I am using a Nikon D7000 camera.

I went out to my nieces barn to watch her ride.... I got a shot of myself, my daughter, and niece reflected in a horses eye. I loved it and a couple of others saw it. My sister asked if I can send a .jpg to the trainer of this horse as she wants to give the photo to the owner. I told her a print would have to be purchased, as I was not sending a .jpg out for this person to do whatever they wanted with it...it's my artwork. She and the trainer were offended they had to pay (seriously, I only charged her $20 for a print) How do others deal with this? I'll do shots for family, will donate pics for animal fundraisers, etc. but not randomly email a file to someone I don't know. Thoughts...?

At least your sister asked! My 37 yr old step-daughter got into my photoshop while we were on vacation together and posted pictures I took of her and her daughter and also posted one of my sunsets to HER facebook of which she as 1,000 friends who have another 1,000 friends, etc, etc. The pictures of her and our grandaughter I didn't mind, but my sunset got to me, I could be famous and not even know it.....LOL. I just asked her please don't post anything from my Photoshop unless you ask me. She looked at me like I had two heads.... Family gotta love them!

I have a D7000 and would like to buy a flash, 80% of my photography is outside day light I have never used more than the built in flash. Any suggestions from my Nikon buddies regarding SB700 vs SB400? P.S. I am not real technical!

Why can't they make it easy and simple so the rest of us can understand it? ??

Do you understand women? When you get them figured out...perhaps you can start on computer technology...

Did I miss something here!

To us, who shot with film, for fifty years and did our composing with the camera, we really had pride in that rare shot, when everything just came out perfect. These photos remain in our mind forever.
I just do not think that you can feel that same satisfaction in a photo that you manipulated with the computer.

WOW seven pages of tips for cheat sheet, mine is easy you don't even have to write it down it's called AUTO (for automatic)setting, step two is Photoshop. Done.

Step three, just save yourself all the bother, and purchase someones elses photos that really know what they are doing.

Someone said it is all about light and composition and I would add angle to that. For me the challenge is taking a picture that is printed on flat paper and making it look like it has depth. You have to be pretty dam good to do this on Automatic setting. You should try it, it may just change your life.

I wish I didn't already have a D7000 because I sure would buy yours, I am sure it is in EX condition. Why did you have TWO D7000? Maybe I need TWO ! LOL

I had sold my D90 in anticipation of getting my new D800E for vacation in June. When my D800E had not arrived I bought a second D7000 from a friend of a friend who was getting divorced and needing money. It only had 168 clicks on it so I knew it had to be in good shape and it was. I hate shooting without 2 bodies as that would mean changing lenses too often and greatly increasing the chance of having an accident when doing so or getting dirt inside a body. I like to have my 70-200mm F2.8 and my Sigma 150-500mm lenses both mounted and have each body adjusted to each lense, makes it easier to get the shot I want that way and less chance of missing one while changing a lens. Also not having to fumble with caps is nice too.
Now that my D800E is here I just don't need the second D7000 so I am selling it. I took over 700 shots with it and it works great, I really had no idea which body I was using at the time other than I knew which lens I wanted. Its really nice to have 2 identical bodies too so you never have to think about where the controls are or which button changes what that way.
The disadvantage? Spending the money on a second body. But once you get used to having two, its impossible to go back to using only one.

I understand now why two camera's it's like remote controls, once you have it you don't want to go back to changing channels with out it. I am afraid my buget can't take two D7000 right now. But next time I upgrade I will keep my D7000 as my spare. When I upgraded to my D7000 I gave my D40X to my son, did not realize two camera's with different lens would be great to have when taking pictures. Live and learn....another reason to enjoy Ugly Hedgehog it always has good advice. I appreciate your time.
