Definitely a place for both. I just prefer the overall look and the creativity of your Low Key images. Keep up the excellent work. Ron Shaw

I love your "Low Key" images. If you don't mind me saying, they blow the doors off the " sketched" ones. Very, very nice!!

[quote=tomw]Here, as in other instances, the Canadian system "works" because the US backstops and subsidizes it.

My understanding is that US drug manufacturers cover their R&D costs with the pricing on their US sales. Having covered those cost in the US, it is profitable for them to sell in bulk to Canada for a small margin over manufacturing cost. Thus, they are sold at lower cost in Canada, and we are subsidizing it.[/quY

Yea that's it. The "BIG Drug companies" hose american citizens
for their drugs and then give canadians a huge break. LMAO.

On my 7D , I hit the Q button. Use the joy stick to go to ISO . While ISO is highlighted press the set button in the middle of the control wheel on the back of the camera. The ISO screen will appear on the LCD screen. From there you can use either wheel to select your ISO speed. Hope this helps.

Actually I am pleased somebody could level it, but yes I do need to know how to do this myself. Corel is just what is on my computer, and it all looks so complex. I am saving up for photoshop.

Do you want to learn to use Coral to do your post processing or just want someone to level this?

In Corel open your photo in the edit mode. On the left hand side you will see the tool bar. Hover over it with your mouse until you find the straighten tool. On your image click below the sun on the horizon line, move the cursor to the right edge of your image and click where the sky meets the water (horizon) Give it a second and voila. I have the latest version X5. You may have to drag your cursor in between the 2 points in your version. Keep messing with it till you get it to work for you. Corel is great software for those who don't want to blow the bank on Photoshop.Good luck, you'll get it.

I am simply pointing out how awful you are in how you attack others, as many attack other races, which is totally unacceptable. Being a Canadian many of this forum would think I should shut my yap. I watch the political ads on TV and think that all this "name-calling" reminds me of school kids. Unfortunately this filters down to the common folk. Neither Rep or Dem is able to do anything without ridiculing the other side at every turn. You are right , people should put as much effort into finding solutions to the problems. Seems to me that the word bi partizan is only talked about at election time, and immediately forgotten after the votes are in. Thats true for both sides. I think the American people can keep Americas world standing in tack IN SPITE OF THE POLITICIANS. Try to act like adults and show your politicians an example to follow. God bless America.

RS, you are probably correct we don't often like others to comment on our positions, even though we feel compelled to offer our opinions about everyone else's business. At the risk of creating a firestorm here I would like to request your opinion of the Canadian "socialist" medical system. We are told that it does not work very well at providing care in a timely manor. Perhaps we need to start a new thread for this but I think your first hand experience could help some of us better understand your system. I realize that the system we have (Ocare) is totally different in that we have left the private insurance company in between us and the provider and your system removed them from the picture all together but I think your "level headed opinion' may be helpful.
Now as to your comment; we are pretty divided at this point in history but thankfully it is short term. The Republican support comes mostly from the Old white male demographic, as many of the Republican political leaders have recently pointed out, and this demographic is decreasing in number daily while we have 50,000 legal Hispanics, new voters, turrning 18 every month. With more than 75% of the Hispanics supporting the Democratic Party it should not be many more election cycles that we have this ugly discourse. That does not mean that we will respect each other’s opinions any more but the stakes will not be as high as the elections will not be as contested with such polarized positions. That is provided the Republicans don't take over this election and change the Constitution as to who is an American citizen and eligible to vote, after all once upon a time only Male, White land owners were allowed to vote in the US.

First off it is not a "socialist" health care system. Canada is not a socialist country. We have had this system for many years and it has not morphed into all out socialism in our country. It was simply put in place to help everybody cope with outrageous healthcare costs. It seems that the biggest knock on our system by some Americans is that the waiting times are too long. Because we don't pay for medicals or checkups, people tend to stay on top of their healthcare issues so the system has more time to deal with things. Their are always horror stories about any system because some people will never be happy with any system (chronic whiners). If there are emergencies, they are dealt with in a timely manner. I don't know how many average Americans could afford major surgeries , without going into tremendous financial strain, but I have heard many stories of people thrust into financial ruin. These systems cost money like any other but the American people have to let their politicians know that this isn't about politics , it's about the health and wellness of a nation that should be taking care of their own people first. As your leaders are so fond of saying "WE THE PEOPLE" are America.
I dare say that the monies and time wasted by the two "parties" would be a good down payment on a system that would show the world that America is the great nation that it always was and still can be. As your good neighbors we believe that you can have as good or better a system as we in Canada do. It does work. Good luck.

I have used CorelDraw 11 graphics suite for a few years since it came out to do work for a commercial printer. I wonder if this would make it easier to learn Paintshop Pro X4,5,6 as opposed to trying to learn Adobe products i.e. PSE10.
I have no idea how well it does HDR though it says it does them in their internet description.
Anyone who uses Paint Shop Pro X4,5,6 I would like your input especally if you used any other Corel products prior to using Paint Shop.
Thanks in advance.

Have used CorelDraw from V5 up to X5 and PaintShop Pro from V8 to X4.
Draw is a vector program , while PSP is a bitmap program. They are quite different as PSP works using layers. PSE10 and PSP are similar with the same learning curve. Draw is not cheap but I use it often for making cards etc from my photos. Hope this helps.

I thought it was absolutely fantastic. There was no way we could have competed against all the thousands of Chinese conscripts from the last Olympics, and we celebrated being British. We knew that lots of our heritage would not be understood by people abroad, but we didn't put on this spectacle expressly for them, we put it on for the British people - this is OUR Olympics. We understood exactly what was put on: the National Health is alive and well - even if it doesn't always function perfectly - and our Head of State has enough of a sense of humour to join in, at age 86! Would Barrack Obama have allowed this seeming "loss of dignity"? Our Queen knows who she is, and obviously didn't think she would suffer loss of respect, and she was right. Most of us think that was the best bit of the show. Sorry if you think this is a "rant", but we didn't put on the show for you, we put it on for us. We paid for it as taxpayers, and most of us think it was marvellous, and money well spent.

On my camera , to remove Xrings you use the release lever on the Xrings, not the lens release on the camera body.

I have saved my images to my computer but not to my desktop. The rest of it I did like you said but when I go to the Details tab I don't seen it showing the WB. It shows ISO, shutter, aperture, flash, but not WB

I tried with an image from my computer and it lists WB . Not sure why OP's doesn't unless it's because I believe it is a point/Shoot camera??
