Your list seems to be mine also. DOS was my favorite, because you actually had to KNOW computing. If you missed a period, TRON would tell you. umm...missing a period was and is always tramatic...

We don't see anything like that in south Louisiana, all of our scenery is flat and mostly very wet. Very different from Western U.S.A.
Just took a look at my Canon AE1, at the time it was "Hot Stuff", now not so much. My first was an FTb, similar to a brick. Now my three Canon T1is are all I need to take 'pictures', I rarely do photography. Seems that I've been on this site for decades. Always lurking but enjoying the cat fights among the "Photographers"

We in the southern states just shrug it off, clean up and rebuild, then soldier on. Such is the lessons learned from these things....You guys in the NE, courage.
Move South or a heavier parka. You are right though, USB cables are limited by line loss. Explore a radio signal system, often advertised in astronomy mags...

At WDW I use an 8Gig (400+ shots) for each day and download nitely to laptop. That way if either the SD or the PC fails, you have backup.
