I do not wish to take away from the awesome beauty of this mother and child so I will not comment on the political/philosophical aspect of new life. I will only say, thank you, for sharing this exceptional rendition of maternal love with us.
Excellent work, thanks for sharing.
Both are good pictures but overall my eye goes to the color, however the way you have cropped them they are actually two different pictures. The color shows more sky and land in front of the fort than the B&W. The B&W has a more dramatic feel but I think that too much detail is lost in the shadows. To me, both would be better if larger. Keep in mind that in the final analysis your opinion is the one that matters (it is your picture) and that we all are still learning.
These guys look sober and focused, but on what is the question? I guess it just goes to show that when intelligent people do dumb things it can be spectacular!
As always super sharp and well presented photo-story.
I see your pictures often and they are always excellent. In this one you are taking notice of the sky but I was taken by the cross section of people you capured. It may be because of the upcoming elections and the bleak picture that has been painted of this country that it is good to see this, all different, all at ease with one another, all Americans.
Hi Bob, I know I'm chiming in a little late but I just wanted to tell everyone that I had the great pleasure of owning a Maine Coon for several years
and, yes they are large and hairy but mine was one of the best pals you could hope for. His name was "PITASS" (Pain In The A??) and he was just that in all the best ways. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants an interesting companion.
Who could resist getting that image. I'm sure that there will many more.
May God bless her and keep her safe.
:D :D
Hi Jim
I like the portrait of your angel but she looks a little tired to me. I took the liberty of copying the picture and doing a little work on her eyes and skin tone. I like the way it came out BUT I will only post it here (or anyplace else for that matter) with your permission. I will keep an eye on this link for your reply or you can send me a PM if you want.
Bill
A nicely done set. Thanks for this glimpse into a side of the monks life that most of us would never have thought of.
Now we have an unusual problem.... How to keep birds off the squirrel feeder. I guess turnabout is fair play after all.
Cuite set up and well done capture, thanks for posting.

Just got a call from the FBI. They're trying to track you down through your tattoo artist. Beware of the middle of the night raid.
I don't think they will have a lot of luck with that, he had a small stall in city that no longer exists we called it Saigon and I'm sure he never kept any records. Although the West Berlin police did take a picture of it in 1964 but I'm sure they only wanted it to show their friends.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Still don't regret it.

This space was in Quebec. You might want to try Amazon! !
If I did try Amazon I just might hear from Homeland Security or the ATF or the NSA or all three. Just in case one or all of those guys are listening, for the record, I would never do anything like that. I leave that to those crazy gun toting Canadians!
AMEN BROTHER!
