I downloaded trail versions of photo shop, Lightroom 3, and photo shop Elements 10. I used Lynda.com and Kelby online to learn each version. I decided Elements 10 was the best for me. Really liked a lot of the features; especially content aware. I know I have more to learn and purchased Scott Kelby's book.

Recently on the UHH someone mentioned that Elements 11 is coming soon. I haven been able to find any info online about a new version. Does anyone have any info on an upcoming release of Elements 11?

Fran: I used the same programs you stated and liked them both but I think you should check the photoshopelementsuser.com. You register for it when you load elements 10 on your computer. Start with learning the editor part - there must be about 15 parts to it - they are very good and if you like lynda.com you will like photoshopelementsuser.com. Phil Steele's Lightroom was recommended to me and it was great and easy to understand.

I'm so disappointed in how many times some people are downright rude in this group. I joined so I could learn more about photography, not to be assaulted by bad behavior. A person asks a question about something they don't know about and before you know some of the responders are having a shoutin' match.

There are so many areas where there is no right or wrong. It's OK. Opinions differ but that doesn't mean you have to be Ugly about it.

There is a big difference between giving constructive criticism and being a nasty critic. Remember that old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all"? That's where the constructive part comes in. Find a way to provide feedback without being a jerk.

P.S. The utmost respect and admiration to the many who willingly share their knowledge, always have a kind word, and who go above and beyond with details, and links, and fixing images, and answering the same question more than once, and pointing a person to a prior topic, and making people feel welcome.

Sarge,
Seems to me you went backwards. Also, 70 is not old, it's "age enhanced".

Hey! Now I have to change my user name.

Yesterday I bought an iMac and plan on retiring my Win 7 Ultimate soon.

It's a whole new world let me tell you. Love the keyboard but the program windows are confusing right now. Sorta like going from a Nikon to a Canon or reverse.

Going to try to load 'Fusion' today to allow me to have a Windows OS running 'virtual' and just load the Windows programs I need like 'Office 2010 Professional' and ' Front Page '

This is a whole new world.

You will miss the updating that your windows would do about every other day (kidding). Mac rarely has to update and the operating systems seems to run more efficiently. I got my Mac about 2 yrs ago and just purchased one for my wife this last week. I think you will be glad you made the switch. I was going to use the Windows part of the machine when I got the computer but never found the need for it.

Ha ha, your'e funny, thanks for making me laugh.
That photo was taken 60 years ago, but I love it.
Not too sure I AM able to handle a big lens though.

I took a friends suggestion and purchased a "Bushhawk" for my camera and a 300mm f/4 lens. You can not believe the difference it makes. They list for $169.00 but I purchased mind at Cabela's for $80.00.

I have visited Arches park a few times, always a great place to visit rain or shine. These pictures were taken in October, the mountains were already covered with snow and the air was co clear, had some fantastic days visiting.

Great shots, good post processing and a great park to spend a few days or more. Good Job!

Yes, I did cut off exhaust stack.......

You could buy a bunch of photo equipment for what each of those trucks cost. Good detailed shots.

Funny how you can see something a million times and then "bam"...you've got to shoot it.

It is always great when one can take the mundane and create a photo with impact. The red fire hydrant does that.

I envy your shots. I have been working on that very thing but have not been quite that "skilled" or as you say "lucky".
