I found the same issue on my Windows PC computer, but not on my Mac. The issue is related to the graphics card. Fortunately, the fix is simple. Go to Edit->Preferences->Performance, then uncheck the "Use Graphics Processor" box.

It could also be caused when you set a value for Clarity in the Image Quality setting.

I purchased this product a month or so ago. It has had several updates since then. It is the latest version of genuine fractuals. (Spelling?). It is a great piece of software if you need to enlarge a file for printing purposes. Remember garbage in garbage out, but if you have a good file with detail this product does wonders... My real concern is the last update is causing the program to crash when taking a small file 30 kbs or and increasing to 400% the program just crashes. I did find a work around by just increasing by 150% then doing it several time for the desired outcome. I have a fairly robust computer I7, with 32gb of memory and a robust video card with additional 2 gb of memory. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this and has had similar experiences???

I just purchased AI Gigapixels as well with the nice holiday discount being offered. It works well on some images. I was watching a video about it and remember the guy (sorry, can't recall who it was) recommending something about increasing the image size incrementally. So, it seems to be a known issue. I tried increasing one of my images by 400% in one step and didn't encounter any problems. The problem must be image specific.

OK - Intuos comes in several varieties, draw, art, photo, comic, and 3d with varying sensitivities, resolutions, and sizes. I'm still unable to choose between all those choices.

If you're only using it for photography (e.g., Photoshop), then the Intuos Photo Creative Pen & Touch (small) is a great way to start out. It cost about $99 USD. I have an earlier version, and it's all I need for Photoshop work. Even with the small version, I reduce the pen area to about a quarter of its "working space" to keep hand movement to a minimum. The wireless option is nice, but is an additional cost (~$40).

Very nice photo, David. The technique worked well in this one.

Thanks, Bob. I used two flashlights - one regular and one LED - with the white balance set between the two. By doing so, it gave the lighting both an orangish and bluish color cast.

Happiness is a brand new set of Prismacolors! Beautiful shots, David, and I see there are many uses for those wonderful colored pencils!

I was fascinated by the way each pencil was sharpened and had to get some pictures of them. Now, my wife may use them.
