Cost for parts is reasonable. The labor is undoubtedly due to the depths to which they have to disassemble the camera in order to replace the $11 part.
Then they will check, clean and service it so you will not be disappointed after the Brown truck has departed.
You will probably be as delighted as I when last I sent a camera in for depot repair.
That's why I shoot landscapes!
NO patience.
Trees and flowers don't fly away. :-)
Good that u have patience to get a great capture -- I envy you.
Wikipedia says Texas is in their migration only route but I have never seen one. GREAT capture!
Google for a T adapter and a T ring.
Both a T-Adapter and a T-Ring are required to mount a DSLR camera to your telescope.
Or u can buy a CCD camera that connect via USB and replaces the eyepiece in your telescope.
Unless you're REALLY going to get into astophotography; this might be the least expensive way to so.
In my late teens, my brother had a 750cc Bultaco (if I remember correctly).
He used to rapidly ride up our sloping driveway, do a "donut" on the front lawn and end up at the foot of our cement front porch. Yep, you know where this is going.
One day, I persuaded him to let me try that and the results were that I lost control of the "donut" and kissed the cement porch, very hard.
Took a while to pay him back for the damage caused by my wanting to emulate my younger brother's skill.
Haven't been on one of those things since! I had not thought of that event in many years . . .
I'm certain there is an audience "out there" that would inspire rave reviews and congrats to the photographer; perhaps it is just not on UHH.
If it had drawn enthusiastic comments; it might have called into question, "Do I want to be a member of this forum?"
The large eye behind the unsavory fellow with poor social dress etiquette who appears to be contemplating some action is unsettling.
Does nothing for me. Not a pleasant photo. Sorry.

OK, so if manual infinity focus is used, then from what footage from the camera will be in focus(aprox) ???
Why, 239,768.237 miles. Of course!
The child could have a career as a model NOW... Beautiful face and expression!

What is my problem?
You don't have a problem; your instructor has the problem.
:)
Is it just me or do others remember the moon being much larger? As a child long ago I remember the moon as a huge bright object not the little dot I see now as an old man!
Things sure change don't they?

I like it but it seems to have picked up some artifacts???
Probably; was working from the downloaded JPG from UHH. Would have been much better working with a RAW or DNG file. I don't know how much downgrading the website does to uploaded photos.
After relooking at it, the artifacts were caused by the selection by color process, my saving the file as a JPG with medium compression, forum JPG handling/resizing <?> and I was not creating an important image for commercial use. I would have spent far more time working on it.
Just an attempt to put clouds in your photo.
Couple extra minutes spent working on artifacts in the sky

Please do... I'd love to see it....
Didn't take but a couple seconds to replace the sky and adjust the density of the layer mask in PS CC.
If you like it; you may use it as you wish.

I shot this about a half hour after sunset to give some color to the sky..... No clouds though, drat the luck!
I have edited your photo and added night time clouds. Would be happy to post if that would meet your approval.
Tom
When I spend three hours walking an excursion somewhere I will spend 6-8 hours minimum tweaking, cloning out people, changing the sky, sharpening, removing id signs and chains and chain hangers; to make it pleasing for me to look at as a print on my walls or as rotating wallpapers on my computer.
It rattles the bit bucket if it is not pleasing to look at and appreciate.
I care NOTHING for documenting the world as it is; only for capturing the world as I wish it were.
