I'm a tweaker and normally make only fine adjustments to an image for sharpness, contrast, saturation, and exposure. My goal is to render a realistic if "slightly" enhanced version of reality. I guess for me it's more about documenting what I see accurately more than making an artistic statement.

Now I know some are fans of altering what they see for a variety of reasons. They get deep into the weeds post processing to the extent that it almost doesn't matter what the original image was. If this is you, then you fall into the post processing Twerker category spending more time in front of the computer screen than behind the camera. Not that there's anything wrong with that, you post processing Twerk!

Ok, lets see what camp everyone here falls into, and what the thinking, and reasons are. ;-) pith

Well then, reject my reality, and substitute your own.

I must say I spend more time behind the viewfinder than most folks I see. Goes back to the old film days, especially the 6x6 cm film, When I didn't have a lot of extra cash and tried to make every shot count. I also enjoy the PP end of it so I manipulate, some more than others, almost every shot I select to keep.

In practice I tend to follow your model, Pith. But I am also aware that Mr. Yankle is a highly-experienced, really smart UHH member.

I achieve greater satisfaction by doing my tweaking before tripping the shutter.

My goal is to be a Master Twerker, BUT, for right now I just SUCK at it, so mostly I just tweak!!!
I have NO nostalgic leanings, either photographically or equipment wise.
I shoot in the moment with no baggage! ;-)

I enjoy both the shooting and the processing. I may take a fairly standard shot of a scene and then dozens of other angles with different lenses, settings, distances. I may process the same shot both very realistically and very imaginatively. I collect processing software and enjoy exploring what it can do. I appreciate high quality images both realistic and creative. I guess this makes me a universalist? I can hang with the rest of the realists when necessary, am preparing my entries for a state level juried contest allows only minimal PP - I won it last year so evidently I can do OK without extensive PP, but PP is still a bunch of fun to me.

You might be missing some fun by avoiding the deep weeds. The view there can be more interesting than the view from the freeway.

When I spend three hours walking an excursion somewhere I will spend 6-8 hours minimum tweaking, cloning out people, changing the sky, sharpening, removing id signs and chains and chain hangers; to make it pleasing for me to look at as a print on my walls or as rotating wallpapers on my computer.

It rattles the bit bucket if it is not pleasing to look at and appreciate.

I care NOTHING for documenting the world as it is; only for capturing the world as I wish it were.

I run across the entire spectrum really. Some images I processes minimally; others are highly manipulated to simulate various painterly qualities. I do what I think the images asks for.

I stand by the quote in my signature.

It's the final image that counts. Why would it matter if one gets there by tweaking or twerking?

I generally tweak, but some images just cry out for twerking. So I guess I do both.

In our family there is one person who always blinks at flash. We like to take group shots and flash is generally required indoors. On occasion I have had to paste different eyes on that person to mitigate the blink.

I have made people smile (slightly) instead of putting up with a deadpan look.

I have changed a woman's hair color (from green to red -- in fact I produced a GIF with the hair cycling through a range of colors).

I have on many occasions transmogrified images at my pleasure. I do not apologize for these actions, nor do I attempt to hide that the images were transmogrified. It's usually obvious.
