In our area (West of Chicago) they are tearing down large portions of indoor malls and converting it into condos. When Sears closed at our local mall, they ripped off the entire footage and put in a few hundred 2 story condos. These sit in the same area as McDonald's, Burger King, etc. I can't imagine living among fast food stores. And people are buying them.

Years ago I bought a new car and went to the DMV to get plates. Back then in IL. you had to show last years registration to get new plates. When the clerk said, "I need to see last years registration" I said "There is none, it's a new car". She told me that if I didn't have last years registration, she couldn't give me new plates. This went on for a half an hour until the boss came back from lunch. She almost threw the new plates at me.
Well, I don't care about any sports, especially the Pros. As the saying goes: "Sports do not build character, sports reveal character".
And yes, I did play sports when younger and was fairly good at it. But I lost interest when they expanded the number of teams so that only a few are good, the rest just mediocre.
I know who she, but I've never heard her sing. And it's been 35 years since I've watched a Super Bowl.

Not too long ago I got a 'half dollar' in my change from a Burger King. I hadn't seen one in a long time. Young folks have no idea what it is.
I haven't been able to write my name in the snow for some years now !
That's a great list but like flycaster I'm a child of the 50's and 60's so my list is VERY long.
Once again I tried to insert an avatar but it still says "permission denied". I went through this some time ago and just gave up.
We have a front porch with a bench and a couple of chairs. Use it all the time. I have a radio out there (on low) and I drink my morning coffee and read the paper when the weather is warm. If someone walks by we may or may not say Hi, some cars wave. I'll sit out until the weather gets to cold. We seldom use our deck because it gets to hot even with an umbrella. We use to have a lot of trees in the back yard, as did our neighbor but most have been cut down due to old age so now we get a lot of sun, no shade. I'd replant but at my age they wouldn't get tall enough to give shade so I'll just sit on the covered front porch.
-56 below (not wind chill) back in the late 50's in Amasa, Michigan. I was in high school and we had school that day. Our school had radiators for heat and they were along the outside wall. We wore our coats and gloves all day. You won't see that as the coldest temp recorded in MI. but it was on the official thermometer in our town that was reported to the local newpaper.
