Thanks to everyone who stopped in to take a peek and comment
I'm glad all that took a look and replied enjoyed them
I travel around CT and New England taking pictures I believe these are interesting and worth sharing. Enjoy

Snapped a few pics of local birds here in CT in the last few weeks that might be nice to share with you
After looking at your beautiful photos, suddenly I want to go to New Mexico
I'm from New England too. I love the ocean, boating, sunsets and sunrises, fog, big-tides, shore birds, I also consider summer to be a very special friend. Thanks for sharing your picture memories
Nice to see all those pollinators. I live in CT and we have Agastache (Hysop) planted around our garden to bring pollinators in to do their business (passed down from my Russian farmer grandfather). We still see a lot of bees but not as many as in the past.
The Agastache smells like licorice, and my wife and I say the bees can't wait for dawn to get there. A lot more carpenter bees now though.
Your camera handles the "reds" beautifully. Great photo
I am giving way to the band on the chest being a shadow. Thanks for your help
Enlarge the pictures and you will see the shadow is really feathers
I have attached some other pictures which will show it is not a shadow on its chest
We have purple and house finches here too. I haven't seen any at the feeders with a band across the chest. Maybe just a genetic defect?
I was out birding, snapping away, when a limited opportunity of this bird came available in CT. Not the best,, up against the sky, camera shake and the list goes on. I've been through birding books and even Googled the image. Purple Finch? Redpoll? The thing that is throwing me off is the band across the chest. Any educated guesses?
Hi, we get a few visiting here in CT. I know when they arrive from the wonder chatter they spew.. Never have taken a shot as nice as yours though
We might have to take a ride to PA. Lovely fall colors showing up there. Here in western MA & western CT the tree foliage has been noted by many as being "low color". Far from what was anticipated. Too much rain here this year?
