I have been looking to step up my kit some and need input from users. I shoot Nikon D-40, D-3500, D-7100 and D-600. The D-750 and D-500 both seem like good fits to how and what I shoot. Astrophotography, landscape, walk around and wildlife are my favorites. My biggest concerns are... can the D-500 provide the details needed for my deep space shots, on a tracker, and is the D-750 enough of a step up from the D-600 to justify the cost. Thanks to all that see, read and respond.
Nikon DX 55-200 VR is wonderful and cheap lens. Sharp all around with an outstanding vr system. Very light weight. My go to lens, with the Nikon DX 35 VR 1.8 when traveling.
Interesting, I went back and viewed many of your posts. Lovely photography. Saw life and color. No sign of ignorance and h**e.
So, that's why it is called a prick.
The mirrored water add s tremandous depth. Beautiful.
East of Portland on I-84 get off at Cobett and take the Historic Columbia River Highway to the Larch Mountain Road to Sherrard Point. Best view in the world. The trail head will take you to all the falls in the Gorge. Set up a driver or just cruise.
That adaptor is called a Nikon 18-55 AF-S VR II DX, 3.5-5.6 G. Great little lens. Sharp, light and cheap.
Even though we are in Gig Harbor, Wa right now here is a few from our Yuma house.
I am looking to purchase, used of course, a decent Nikon macro lens. I shoot with Nikon D600, D7100, D3500 and my old pal the D40. Would prefer a full frame. The lenses I have don't do true macro shooting justice since none of them get close to 1.1. I have read a 105 is the shortest focal length to keep good a distance. Manual focus would be my choices, mostly for price, but also the older Nikon just seem more robust. I am leaning toward the 105mm 2.8 AI-S Macro. Those that shoot macro alot please give your input. Thank you all.

So I have read how, I have watched videos on how but for some reason my brain just doesn't want to hold on to the information. I took this shot of a white lily this past Sunday and I am still not able to get the amount of detail in any shot whether flower, bird etc that I would like. Does anyone have a simple way or explanation of how to achieve more details captured in my white images?
Thanks for any and all input
I see a beautiful lily surrounded by its pads in calm water. The details stand out nicely, such as the blemish on the right petal, the bug at the bottum and the curls on the pads. This is what I would see standing on the shore. I did not look at the file but a slightly higher aperture may focus the pads a tad more. Very nice shot. My opinion only.
What a wonderful tour. Thank you sir.
The Nikon 18-200 DX VR-II is an outstanding do everything lens. Wide enough and fast enough at all lengths.
