suggestions for the pacific NW in july folks?

i'm planning a trip to this area in early july as i'll b participating in a photo workshop in olympic. so i'm thinking the leader will have olympic NP well covered.
i'm starting my research of "can't miss" locations/shots...especially waterfalls. soooo, i'm seeking spots to visit and shoot. i'll be driving thru idaho....oregon...and washington. there seems so many, so i need to pick and choose. i'm only up for hikes of up to 2 or 3 miles. i thank you in advance for any recommendations!
If you're going through Oregon on I-84, you can't miss Multnomah Falls as it's right along the highway. I found my best shot was from the parking lot in the median of the highway because I was far enough back to get a good angle on the falls. The wreck of the Peter Iredale (Warrenton, OR) can be interesting if you're there early in the morning before too many people are there.
Cross the Megler Bridge and stop at Cape Disappointment in Washington. Go to Waikiki Beach if the waves are good (or even if they're not that great) and visit the Visitor Center and Lighthouse.
If your workshop doesn't stop in the Hoh rainforest then go there yourself. Same for many of the beaches like First Beach and Rialto Beach. Take a hike to Sol Duc Falls. It will take 20 minutes or so but it's not a hard hike and doesn't have much elevation change.
If you're in Port Angeles drive through the Mckinley Paper Company and out to Ediz Hook to shoot driftwood. It's piled up along the side of the road and there is plenty of room to park.
Be ready to stop or make a U-turn at any moment anywhere on your trip because photo ops will pop up as you drive. It's a great area so have a great time! Bring plenty of memory cards!
For waterfalls, check the old highway in the Columbia Gorge, Panther Creek falls, Silver Falls State Park east of Salem, Mt Ranier Natl Park (likely too early for subalpine flowers), check listings for area east of Cottage Grove and then up along Umpqua River drainage, heading to Crater Lake. There are lots of others as well.
Thanks for asking, I want to know too! Who are you doing the tour with?

I live near Olympia and want to know who is doing the tour too!
Are you planning to stay on the coast or go inland?
In Idaho Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls (Niagara falls 0f the West) where you can also see the Perrine Bridge over the Snake River Gorge. If you have time drive a little North thru Ketchum and Sun Valley up to the Sawtooth mountains and Redfish Lake near Stanley. Also there is Craters of the Moon National Monument in the same area. Continuing out West you'll pass by Malad Gorge State Park with several interesting waterfalls. This is part of a series of State Parks including Thousand Springs which has waterfalls (many) coming directly out of the sides of mountains. I lived in Idaho for several years and never ran out of things to see or do.
"a photo workshop in olympic"
We have the city of Olympia (the state capitol) and Olympic National Park. The is no town, city or place of 'olympic'. Driving from Olympia to Olympic National Park headquarters is about a 3 hour drive if you stop for anything enroute.
Olympic National Park is gorgeous and rugged. Compared to other NPs, road access is miniscule. The one 'main' road to Hurricane ridge is now 'metered' and you need reservations.

pardon my goof. olympic n.p.....the workshop is by rocky mountain reflections. Andy is the guy who leads them. i've enjoyed my prior 2 workshops w/him. he knows the good spots. pm me if u want more info, please.
I would add a day to drive the loop through Mt. Rainier NP. It will be a fairly long day o driving, but well worth it.
If you are thinking about time in Seattle, a visit to the Pike Place Market and also the Seattle Center and Space Needle are great. Also the Museum of Flight about 15 minutes from Downtown is another very good place to spend some time. And about 45 east of Seattle on I-90 is Snoqualmie Falls, which will be past peak runoff in July but still worthwhile.
Have a great time in Olympic NP on your photoworkshop.
Drive north on I5 to Hwy 20 (north of Mt. Vernon). From there you can go west to the seashore (views of water, Mt. Baker and lots of birds) and/or you can go east through the mountains and see dams, forests, the town of Winthrop and unspoiled scenery you probably won't see anywhere else on the planet.

Then the Palouse region of southern Washington is a "don't miss" place. Just drive the backroads. The lake region near Bend, Oregon is beautiful.
