My amateur suggestion : first made a duplicate of the photo you are editing . Second find and try one edit software that come for free . Just to have a ride . Than buy one at your choice . Best Angelo's regard

The camera I have in my hand today is :
Panasonic lumix dcm FZ 20 (Matsushita el. ind. in Osaka fecit in 2004 ) . I bought it in 2004 and used a couple of year . After that I " lost " it in a drawer . Last week I opened that drawer and start to load very old dia in my imac 27 late 2009 . The operating instruction pag 16 says that max sd memory card should be 1gb . I did not notice this table and used 2gb that is good for jpg but not for tiff . Actually I don't need bigger sd ; I am happy with 1gb too . In my humble opinion , of course .

But you are also right : from what I can see in one shoot , there is no difference from Tiff ( 14 gb ) and jpg ( standard 1gb ) ; or I am not a good observer : comparing both with adobe photoshop 600% zoom they seems to be exactly the same .
Never mind . It is for me a kind of exercise .
Next week I could use an old nikon d60 and compare with RAW imagine
