Who Says Old-Fashioned Street Photography Is Dead?
Jean Andre Antoine uses a camera from 1947 and spends nearly every day working the same SoHo block.

Photo'd for a flickr group theme. Feedback welcomed! If you have a preference, please include your reason. Much appreciated!

Linda...the excellent simplicity, starkness, geometry, and functionality of these images (and others you've) provoked my thoughts of the "Bauhaus" style.. Nice...

As I was walking near the clubhouse area, I spotted a squirrel casually sitting on one of the deckchairs. I greeted him, but he seemed a bit nervous, so I stayed where I was and gently spoke, telling him I had a peanut. So I tossed it towards him, but unlike most squirrels, he didn't quickly grab it; instead, he stared. Eventually, he got down but still didn't approach it. He just kept going back and forth, sizing it up. Then, much to my surprise, he launched into this strange little dance routine. I'm unsure if this is a new squirrel ritual, or perhaps their version of eeny, meeny, miny, moe, or if he thought he needed to perform for the peanut. Anyway, he finally took it and then again really sized it up. Most squirrels, if you notice, will do this. They examine the nut to determine whether it is good and whether they want to eat it or bury it. It's a real process. This guy, however, took it to the next level, which you will see in the next post.

Always an adventure with these guys, as they all seem to have their own personalities.

As always, I hope you enjoy!

Me and Stan! I got dizzy just looking at these amazing pictures. You were right there with them, focused and composing and that's a big deal.

Thanks APG (Jered/Stan)…..how’d you like to get up in the morning from a safe bed and go to work and do this... definitely not for the faint of heart:

Terrific captures, Ron! The last photo in the first set is my favorite. The two guys in the foreground frame the rest of the shot perfectly, and the tones are wonderful!

Thanks for the observation and comment Jered. (BTW, tone/exposure was tricky for all the shots since the source of Light was outside creating really dark shadows inside…particularly the last shot in set 1!)

Photo Folder, if it's a directory, does not create files. Applications do.
SOMETHING (application) is set to use a directory called "Photo Folder".

Are you "viewing" on Smugmug or "downloading" from Smugmug"???
"Downloading" here at UHH is a misnomer, it doesn't download to your computer, the BROWSER downloads it to browser cache to display it.

Downloading something from the web WILL download the file to your computer.
I have my browser set to ask me WHERE to put the file.
It might be your browser that is downloading to a "default" directory.

Thanks so much for the explanation.... I'll check the settings. (This is so annoying...but I knew someone could help)
