As I was walking near the clubhouse area, I spotted a squirrel casually sitting on one of the deckchairs. I greeted him, but he seemed a bit nervous, so I stayed where I was and gently spoke, telling him I had a peanut. So I tossed it towards him, but unlike most squirrels, he didn't quickly grab it; instead, he stared. Eventually, he got down but still didn't approach it. He just kept going back and forth, sizing it up. Then, much to my surprise, he launched into this strange little dance routine. I'm unsure if this is a new squirrel ritual, or perhaps their version of eeny, meeny, miny, moe, or if he thought he needed to perform for the peanut. Anyway, he finally took it and then again really sized it up. Most squirrels, if you notice, will do this. They examine the nut to determine whether it is good and whether they want to eat it or bury it. It's a real process. This guy, however, took it to the next level, which you will see in the next post.
Always an adventure with these guys, as they all seem to have their own personalities.
As always, I hope you enjoy!
Caption… Oh,no… (Urp.. ahhhh) not another peanut… I’m really stuffed already…)

You are probably right. I once played traffic director to save a squirrel. I was walking down the hill and saw a squirrel. He went into an elevator pose and just stood there. I saw a car coming up, so I tried to direct him, and the car stopped. They remind me of a mensa. As brilliant as they are in some matters, they are very dumb!
Yup, another one with lots of personality!
Cute, love the second last one.
Always love your shots of these cuties.
My cuteness break for the day, Barb.
