So we spoke a few months ago about the eagles. I live in Virginia and would like to make a drive down to try and get some shots of the eagles. Is now a good time and how much longer will they be there?
Thanks.
Jimmy
Dm should have said pm. Dm just stands for a direct message sorry for using the wrong initials.
Thanks for the reply. I’m going to give it some thought.
Thanks. It happened when I least expected.
I agree. That was the crop my wife wanted she did not like seeing that little bunny hanging from the talons.
On Friday morning March 25 while sitting in my living room here in Virginia I saw out of the corner of my eye this large object fly by my bow window. As I looked out and saw the bird land in my neighbor’s oak tree and saw those white tail feathers I could hardly speak. My wife thought something was wrong with me. I always look at all the great eagle shots that people post on this site and always say I hope one day to get some shots like those. I have traveled to Maine for the last 20 years and have seen eagles but they were generally too far off and I could never get a very good shot. So it’s an understatement to say how shocked I was to see an eagle here in Virginia right next door to me. I have never seen an eagle in my town much less in a tree right beside my home. The pics I took were handheld with my Nikon D500 with my Nikon 300 2.8 lens. Settings could have been better but I was in shock to see the eagle and he was carrying with him his breakfast. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have and will.
Thanks for looking.
For the money you can’t go wrong with the Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2. I use it on my D500 and I’m very pleased.
So sorry. I know what your going thru we had to put our beloved Emmy down on Saturday January 29th. Our heart is broken and our home seem so quiet without her.
Great pics! Can you share what focus points that you generally use with the D500?
Great shots again! Thanks for sharing your settings also.
