Someone is trying to rattle your chain. LOL.

Problem is that the poor chain is rusted! It doesn’t rattle as much as one that isn’t being dragged around the block.

Sorry about the typos. Can you imagine a world that has more than 51% women?

In response to Jerryc41’s recent thread, “Can’t Take. A Compliment” I offer the following.

A GROUP OF MY FRIENDS
A group of my friends and I went out to a local German Restaurant. We wanted good German food but that can be a delicacy. After we were seated and ordered our food, the woman decided to use the rest room. All of us men sat there and were started talking. Why do they all have to go together? Why are they gone so long? Why do they all look like they are plotting world domination???

So us guys started to conjecture. When a man goes to the restroom, we go alone. We don’t invite anyone along. We do what we need to do and we are done. We don’t talk to anyone else even if we recognize them while we wash our hands. We just leave the men’s room and quietly and quickly return to our seats. When the women return they are chatting up a storm with each other. You can hear their conversation from the other end of the eatery. When they approach the table, they have stern looks on their face and have stopped talking. When any one of us men asks what was so funny?, they all reply, Ohh! It’s nothing! You wouldn’t understand!

We have come to the reason for all this. The Ladies Rest Room is like The Oval Office or the Situation Room. Women line up to enter. That is why the line is twice or three times as long as the line for the men’s room.
Once inside they discuss their ill made plans to foil us men as well as other men we have yet to meet.

Now you know the rest of the story! We must not let the women know what we know. All of the men are obligated to NOT discuss this revolution!

To all the women of the world, us men have presumed you all have conspired against us. We may not know what you have in store for us, but we will always be cautious around the female populace.

Women. Ya can’t live with ‘‘em and ya can’t live without ‘em!

We all take compliments the wrong way. Did you lose weight? You mean, I was fat before! Your photograph is really good! Was there something wrong with my camera before? I really love how your tattoo hides your stretch marks!

I learned early at work compliments can be a source of trouble. You can compliment a coworker and the next day you’re in Labor Relations trying to convince everyone you are n sexually harassing her or him!

It is too much harder these days to be nice. Hold a door open for a woman and wonder why they didn’t say thank you. They were probably thinking you were trying to start a conversation!

I GIVE UP!

On a side note, I came across this book.

It is “Making KODAK Film: The Illustrated Story of State-of-the-art Photographic Film Manufacturing” by Robert L. Shanebrook.

It does get a little technical but it is a nice read. It is a worthwhile book!! When you can’t photograph it is nice to read about doing it.

When ever I developed a roll of film it was without special effects. I have included receipts from way back when.

Raleigh no longer exists. Boo Hoo! Raleigh Cameras was the store I purchased my Canon EOS 2000. It works great and always comes through in a pinch!

Dermer Pharmacy was on the street corner from around my house. Dermer and it’s Surgical Supply Store have closed too.

Yes there is both push and pull processing. push processing is to over develop by develop the film longer to compensate for underexposure. Pull processing is the reverse, develop for shorter time to compensate for overexposure. I did it back in the late 70's because the fastest slide film was only 200 so I need to push for high speed. Today I would never want push or pull as both have negative effect on the quality. If I need high ISO I shoot digital. I now only use 160 film as the fastest.

Thank you for taking the time to edumacate this cranky old coot!

When Kodak stopped making CN400, a friend told me about this film. I tried two rolls But it didn’t ignite my love for the Ilford version of film.

Forgive my naïveté. I have never heard of push processing. Is there such a thing? How about pull processing or Push/Pull processing?

It's funny how some people can't take a compliment. In one of my groups, there is a woman in her 70s who is very attractive, despite not wearing makeup or doing anything with her hair. Being the thoughtful gentleman that I am, I thought I would pay her a compliment.

"You know, Pam, despite the fact that you're probably pushing 80, you're still a rather attractive woman. Although you seem to be letting yourself go, never wearing any makeup and not doing anything with your hair, just letting it run wild, you're still rather nice to look at."

I expected a big smile, but she made an ugly face and stormed away. Some people just can't take a compliment.

I think we need to provide a viable way to insure that the infrastructure of this country remains intact. Perhaps engineering students can offer some time and receive school credit. Working with engineers, students can provide up to date insight into the maintenance of our collapsing and antiquated infrastructure.

PS: my son had received his PhD from Virginia Tech in engineering.

…. I’ve noticed that when a bird is very far away, my photos aren’t …sharp…..

I would like to put in my 2 cents worth.
I assume you are using a tripod or a monopod.
I found some use with a 150-600mm lens even though it may be a little pricey. Focusing and zooming were difficult. I purchased a bracket called FOTGA L200. It does a better job of support than a zoom lens foot. It is not expensive and makes good use of your monster lens.

Dear KolorFotoBug: This is an interesting photography project. I am surprised that people forgot to send away their film from years ago. I occasionally shoot film but have my 35mm film developed by The Great American Photo Lab. I will buy my film from B&H or Film photography project or Shoot Film company. Thank for giving out the info to me and adding them to my repertoire!

My first encounter with CN400BW was an accidental one. I purchased a few rolls when in high school. I was photographing for the school year book. I dropped off the rolls at a nearby pharmacy. A week later I picked up the rolls and noticed I forgot to check off the last little box that the film was Black and White. I figured the film would be washed out. To my surprise, the photos had a creamy sepia tone. The photos were softer and not as harsh. This film became my all time favorite. I can only find expired rolls but you need to modify the ASA setting on the camera now.

CHG_CANON gave me the secret to developing this film based upon how old the film actually is.

My camera has been in the shop…..feel naked without them!

I can sympathize. A short while ago, my Canon 5D Mark II needed a repair. Before I sent it off, I dusted off my Canon 1v-HS. When my baby was back home I had several rolls of film to develop.

PS: If you weren’t shooting Nikon we could have been friends! LOL!
