I purchased a Canon camera from Amazon. While trying to register with Canon, I was informed I could not register it because it was a “grey market” camera! My dilemma now..... do I keep it or send it back?? So far the camera works great (Canon 90 d)
Apologies if this issues has already been discussed.
I've had Google Fiber installed and discontinued my Spectrum account. I thought Google had an option to select the local channels, but its just a fast internet connection and no TV options, except for an option you can buy for $60 a month that will provide the same basic and movie channels offered by Spectrum and others. Total cost is $70 for Google Fiber and $60 for the Google Channel.
I knew that I would need some other means to select local channels so I purchase Ruku for my TV's, but with all the options provided, I cannot find one that will provide the local channels. For instance, I can get CBS, but it is the national version and no local. I signed up for HULU which I thought would give me the local channel option, but if it does, I don't know how to set it up.
There is another option and that is having an external antenna to get local channels. Not that expensive which I may have to use.
Other than signing up for the Google channel, going back to Spectrum or using the external antenna, does anyone know of an option to use on Ruku?
Thanks for your help. It will be appeciated as my wife is and I are struggling to get back to the "norm".

We use YouTube TV and love it. Get all the local channels plus all the sports channels. I think it’s around $75 a month.
Who needs ornaments when you have a kitten. lol Meet Otter, our six week old, 1.6 pound foster kitten. She is a tree climber. We have had pets for as long as I can remember. We thought we would try fostering since we have been empty nesters for the past year. Pet wise that is. Wow, this little girl has a lot of energy. :) But my wife and I are really enjoying her.
Am I missing something with Apple TV? I signed up so I could watch the Tom Hanks WW II movie. I went through the list of movies available from Apple, and I clicked on about a dozen. When I tried to watch one, it told me that I had to buy/rent it through my phone. I went back to the list of movies, and every one has two boxes to click: "Add to List" and "How to Watch." the "How to Watch" tells me I have to pay to watch it. They charge $5.00/mo. Doesn't that cover anything?
I also signed up with Disney+, and that includes National Geographic. That has some excellent exploration shows. I'll cancel in a couple of days before it renews because everything else is for kids. If you have little kids in the house, Disney+ would be fantastic.

I am also not interested in the channels that are being added to "sweeten" the sour taste of a 30% price increase. My first impulse from their email on 30 June 2020, was disgust for a 30% price hike during a pandemic and the worst economic condition since the Great Depression.
My first take after a quick analysis of competing services has me thinking that YouTube TV is still a pretty fair deal in comparison. I subscribed primarily because of the number of sports channels that are included in the basic subscription and do not require another tier of service from, as example, Comcast. For instance FS2 and CBS Sports Network are included but were not included in my previous Comcast tier of service. Also, YouTube TV does not pile on fees like HD fee, Broadcast Fee, Cable Box Fee (for each TV), Regional Sports Fee, et. al. Also, there is no contract or penalty to cancel or pause.
My ideal format would be a streaming service that allowed consumers to custom tailor subscriptions on a strictly "ala carte" basis, channel by channel without forcing paying for numerous unwanted channels because some "suits" think they know what people want to pay for. If a channel succumbs to lack of subscription interest, then it probably doesn't need to be in the game.
What I find extremely interesting is that YouTube TV must be swamped with complaints from subscribers about the price increase. When clicking on the "help" icon, the first thing that popped up was an announcement that they are experiencing very high customer contact volume and they offer as a convenience a "form" to fill out and submit for feedback on the price increase. Apparently the "form" is being utilized so much that I have been unable to submit it yesterday and thus far today, the next day. After clicking "submit" I receive the following: "There were problems sending your form. Please try again." So it appears that the Google servers cannot handle the consumer feedback. If they only knew of a reliable data service company that could handle their communications! (note: sarcasm intended).

Not happy about this. Going to shop around for a better deal.
I’ll probably go back to watching TV through my antenna and getting something like an HD homerun or a TiVo to record over the air. And not pay for cable or DIRECTV or YouTube TV anymore.
After it has served admirably (albeit a bit slowly) for 7 or so years, I would like to replace my MacBookPro. I had pretty much decided to go with an iMac desktop and keep the laptop for odds and ends. HOWEVER, read the other day that Apple is going to start phasing in their own processor chips and phase out Intel, and they’re going to start with MacBooks and tablets, picking up desktops later. For all you knowledgeable Mac wonks out there, and I’m not being sarcastic*, should I stick with Plan A and get the iMac or wait until the new chips are out and go with another MacBook? I think the article said things should start happening in 2021.
Thanks
*The IT folks at the HS where I taught said I knew enough about the school’s computers to be dangerous. Only crashed one of the labs once - better than some of my colleagues. ;-)
Thanks again.

Are use this app to remind me of passwords. It’s on both my Mac and my iPhone so if I can’t get logged into my computer I just look it up on my iPhone. It works really well and I’ve used it for years.
