There was a beauty of a sunset last night in San Francisco, CA, even through my horribly-filthy hotel window.....

I've only driven over Hatcher Pass once, and it was under a full overcast - but it was still beautiful, and that tundra above timberline looked even greener then. Nice series of shots here.

I thought that perhaps people in Indiana ate seagull drumsticks. Nice BIF shots.
Sometimes it really matters not whether your lens is glass or plastic. This is a very nice photo of a place that holds some terrific memories for me. Navajo Peak, just left of center, is the first mountain I ever climbed, back in 1964. At that time, I only had a small Kodak 'throw-away' camera, but didn't even take it on that climb. Thanks for posting this!

Wow! How in the world did you not get a prism rainbow in the scene? Great job, GB!

Would you care to explain your settings? I agree with the I so but since the boat are at infinity you could have brought the stop down and boosted the shutter. This I'd a beautiful shot and this is not criticism just a question. Inquiring mounds want yo know.
I was shooting this in aperture mode. This is a tight zoom of a much wider scene. I wanted to shoot this in manual, but oblivious souls kept moving in front of me to shoot the scene, causing me to have to pull my tripod out of the sand and move away so the people were no longer in my way. I simply didn't have time to "do it right." I hope this explains my settings a little.
Joe, this is an excellent example of why, sometimes, it's a good thing to ignore the 'rule of thirds.' This is an outstanding composition, and resulted in a terrific photo...and I'm glad you enjoyed Maui.

I would be interested in seeing about an inch cropped off the bottom since can't really tell what the foreground elements are and the stars of the show are sun and sails.
Good point,Linda. Thanks. How's this? (There's a jetty between the beach and the sailboats.)
You did well. Glad you didn't have a polarizing filter on your camera.
The Mountain is beautiful at any time, but you caught it at one of its best moments. Nicely done!
Thanks to each of you who served, in whatever Allied armed force, at war or during peacetime...and to every wife of a veteran. Sometimes those at home had it tougher than we did.

I enjoyed the photo of the geese, but the sun is totally blown out in the other two photos.
