Within the past week I purchased the sigma 60-600mm lens. After watching many reviews, I kind of got the idea that I didn't need a tripod at this moment but after using it for a few days, I absolutely need one.
What I'm looking for in a tripod is:
-carbon fiber (to cut down on weight)
-ball head included (I'm buying a gimble head next month)
-sturdy (would rather not get a travel tripod, unless they're sturdy enough)
_looking to spend up to $500

Any recommendation are appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

Nikon's customer service has never been what you would call stellar. Now it is getting worse. I read from a very reputable source that Nikon is cutting their staff for their professional services (NPS) from 14, 2 years ago to 5. If Nikon is starting to disregard the professional that uses their equipment, what do you think is going to happen to the other 90% of users?

First off, and to set things straight, I don't take pride in not using the video capabilities. It's a simple matter of no interest in making movies. There is a lot more to it than simply pushing the "movie" button.

100% agree. A great percentage of the "photographers" on this site shoot many very pleasing and interesting "stills". I would bet you a new Phase One camera that the percentage greatly drops when these same "photographers" put on their "videographer" hats!

WTF Shadow? Did you not read James quote "There is not a firmware update that allow for CFExpress compatibility on your D850." As a "Nikon Technical Support" rep, he should certainly have boned-up on the gear his company markets. If he didn't, he should look for another job. I hear that McDonalds is hiring.

I agree with you !00%. Shadow has his head up his rearend! If Nikon is taking telephone support calls in the United States, those support people should be totally fluent in English!

Coming soon, Nikon Z9

Yes, and if the Z9 is like any of the other recent Nikon releases, it will take at least 2 years before you can get one.
Maybe!

I have many memory cards (I do not trust any digital storage alone). I keep them in a box, in labeled sleeves. Does anyone have another system? I was thinking about something in a large loose leaf notebook, but I do not know how I would set up the holders for the cards.

95% of my memory cards are in cameras.

During the install process it states that Nikon NXi will be removed from your computer. You can go to the Nikon web site and download the NXi if you still want to use it.

I have always used b&w/hoya filters. Now I'm in need of a larger size filter set for a new lens (77m). I've notice a few new company's in the market.
Who do you thinks produces the best ND filter today. I'm looking for 1 through 10 stops.
Thanks for your input

Check out Breakthrough Photography. Their filters produce less color cast than any other filter. PERIOD!

Any experience in the B&H Photo's PayBoo card? Is it a good idea to have/use one? What is the catch?

Works like B&H says it does. However you must pay off the total balance by the first due date. If not, you will be charged 29.99% interest on the balance. Which could easily be more than what you saved in sales tax relief.

If you do get the Z6ii I would use the lenses that are compatible for awhile. Sell the ones that aren't comparable. Then over a short period of time replace all F mount with native S mount. They are so much better.

Ever notice how much the Z that Nikon uses for their MILCs resembles the ZZ Top Z?

No question. Return it! I would return it even if it we're only a $500 lens. That sort of shipping is absolutely inexcusable.

I had a job several months ago and ask for recommendations for hangers to hang canvas prints and two people recommended these. See photo, this is what they looked like. The are made by Blink. They work very well and are very easy to use. I did a search and could not find my post, do any of you have the info where I can order these?

I use 3M Command picture hangers, always. No drilling into the wall. Easy to cleanly remove. Have never had one detach from the wall.
