Actually, someone here on UHH told me to check the support updates before Nikon got back with me. The latest firmware update included the ability to use CFexpress cards and I found the D850 I have already had the latest firmware update. I ordered a CFexpress card, tried it out in the camera and it works fine. I'm a little disappointed that Nikon support doesn't know this!
I lost faith in Nikon when they released the D7500 calling it a replacement for the D7200.

Seems to me that an increasing problem in the workplace is incompetence. James W. proves my point.

It's really a Jr. version of the D500...should have been the D490 but that wouldn't have been too popular.

So all agents of non-English based companies have to be totally fluent in speaking and understanding English?

WTF Shadow? Did you not read James quote "There is not a firmware update that allow for CFExpress compatibility on your D850." As a "Nikon Technical Support" rep, he should certainly have boned-up on the gear his company markets. If he didn't, he should look for another job. I hear that McDonalds is hiring.

But you didn't state WHAT
you were complaining about.
I took it as the agent's English.
Shoot me.....
The fault lies with the guy tucked away in the basement who is supposed to be keeping the support unit's computers up to date.
The support people are not trained in the use of the cameras. They are trained to look to the terminal in front of them for the answers.
The fact that the guy in the basement didn't updated the support unit's computers is enough for all of us to switch brands. After all, we now know that,
Nikon doesn't understand it's own cameras? ---

Why should he look for another job? Nikon doesn't fire him and it's a good job.

Perhaps. But by doing so, they killed the D7XXX series.
My brain shouts "Its all about the Money!!!" and lost faith in them.

I agree with you !00%. Shadow has his head up his rearend! If Nikon is taking telephone support calls in the United States, those support people should be totally fluent in English!

So how many primarily non-English countries have you been to?
No problem conversing, eh?
Everyone speaks fluent English, eh?
A great portion of Americans can't speak English
fluently....

I lost faith in Nikon when they left out the AF drive and the iris closure lever from their FTZ lens mount converter.
I have an exactly equivalent item from Sony, at exactly the same price, which includes the AF drive and iris actuator.
Acoarst I can remember waaaaay back to Magnum and Black Star journalists (briefly) losing faith in Nikon when the F2 displaced the original F.

You are not alone, and not just Nikon or CF or SD cards. Ricoh Pentax does not know it cameras fully either. And they have a lot fewer models and customers to consider. I found on the web that there are a number of seemingly and important features and functions not document it would seem for my Pentax K-3 camera. It differs from my K-5 and K-20 (both older). Seems there are some mystery tricks to get this model body to meter and exposose correctly with older Non AF lenses. Technical steps beyond merely setting the camera to use the aperture ring on the old film lenses. With out the secret steps for example you may get a correct exposure but only with the lens wide open. I hear Nikon old-new compatibility can be odd as well.
