Oh, I don't know, I'm a Dem and I thought he sucked last night. Hopefully he'll do better next time.

He sucks as a president, but I thought he was a good speaker. I guess when one usually has a teleprompter as a crutch it's easier to give the illusion of speaking well. I don't think it was Kerry's coaching, I think he had one too many doobie's prior to the debate. 8-)

He isn't a good speaker, just an orator that can only deliver a speech that someone else wrote. It is also the reason you can't call him a liar - he is just reading the text that someone else wrote.

It only seems logical to me....a ardent Conservative, that all states should mandate photo id to vote, get public assistance and enroll children in public schools. The states should provide these photo id's free of charge so as not to "disenfranchise" any citizen of the US who may not be able to afford them...or in the alternative, accept payment in food stamps.

I wonder what kind of ID that they are issued when they go on food stamps.
Probably has a photo so that it wouldn't be used by unauthorized people???

Count me in. I have one and like the size, zoom range, full HD movies and am amazed with some of the digital zoom pictures - even though you probably wouldn't print them as 8x10. Would like a smaller focus point and faster auto focus time. Overall very happy with it. Made the choice of this camera over a 150-500 mm lens for my DSLR - about $1200.00 difference.

I seem to have those moments. I don't think that it is Alzheimer's so when it happens I know it must be "Sometimers".

Saw this bird today for the first time and do not know what it is, does anyone know? Please and thank you. :-)

It looks like it is a Prothonotary_Warbler

The website is very useful for identifying birds.
Even has apps you can use on your phone.

Exodus 20:11 says the Lord created the earth in 6 days...
not the universe

Go argue with Ham and the rest of the YECers about it.

The universe is a bit over 13 billion years old and the earth about 4.3 billion. The bible is not a science book.

YECers???

Young Earth Creationists

Genesis 1:13-19 tells everything that God created in the fourth day. If you read it you will see the stars were created then.

I'm just began trying to shoot hummingbirds. I have a feeder set up but I'm not getting many birds, if fact only 2 so far. can someone help me to draw more birds to my feeder. here is 1 shot I got.
Clear sugar water at 3:1 ratio is all you need. Once found, you feeder will be remembered.

Lets talk about your photo. Did you use a speedlight? The underside of wing is nearly over-exposed. What lens are you using, and how far away? What ISO, shutter duration, and aperture?

A 4 water to 1 sugar ratio is what is recommended on all of the recipes that I have seen when I googled "hummingbird nectar recipe".
One of the sources: http://birding.about.com/od/birdfeeders/a/nectarrecipe.htm has additional information including the following:

The ratio of sugar and water can be slightly adjusted, but a solution that is too sweet will be difficult for the birds to digest and one that does not contain enough sugar will not be suitable to attract hummingbirds. The 4:1 water to sugar ratio most closely approximates the sucrose levels in natural nectar.

I searched it and here is the link

Reminds us of what is really important in this world.
Wouldn't it be great if we could take a photo that would tell the complete story like the written word can?

Have a blessed day!

I took a few with my new Canon SX 40. It has a 35x zoom - 35mm equivalent of 800+ mm. Think that these came out ok for a bridge camera. Certainly cheaper than a new lens for my DSLR.

Well, we are into the sixth page of the topic and have ONE entry already???

Hope we don't have to go with that ratio to come up with 100 entries.

How would you like the anonymous entries submitted?
Let us know and then I can submit one.

Hey Doc ...... What's up

I've got Nikon lenses from the 60's that I can still use on my current digital Nikon cameras ...... as a Canon user can you claim that ..... I think not

yep.

The lenses that I have from the 60's were for my Konica Auto Reflex A camera and I know they won't fit on my Canon.
I still have the Konica, but like most everyone else am not shooting film now.
