Hi, Geeez MT I hope you are not hinting that Canon is behind this. Being a dedicated Canon firer I want you dark siders to stay over there as too often the gear I need(want) is back-ordered and I don't want a billion more buying Canon. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

Hi, I live on the dry side of Oregon and a friend is shooting in a cowboy action shoot on the wet side. He is taking me with him to photograph him and his horse in action. Should be fun. Keep shootin'.Mike

Hi, Welcome Colleen! You will be well advised to get a good book on the Xti as has been mentioned here. This camera was my first digital and I had some CDs on it and they aren't much good. You will learn a ton more by going through the dummies book or David Busch's book. Also just get out and start shooting. The great thing about digital is it doesn't cost anything until you process. Anything you don't like you just delete it. Have fun and keep shootin". Mike

Hi, I have several L lenses including the one you're looking at. None of them make the sound you're describing. There are a lot of these lenses for sale so you'll have no trouble getting one that's not sick. Send it back. Mike

Hi, I have 5 L lenses and I love each of them. They take better pictures than other lenses but they are also considerably more expensive. If you think that you'll just buy one don't do it because they're like potato chips, one ain't enough. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

Hi, I always leave IS on when shooting with a monopod. You are going to have some movement with the monopod. I shoot a lot of sports and the monopod and IS both help working together. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

Hi, I have a 7D and I love it. That being said I use it to shoot my grandkids high school sports and for that it is perfect. I have decided that I'm going to wear it out before I buy a new one which is how much I love it. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

Hi, I don't know the Sigma but I have the Canon 70-300 and it is not their best. I have the 70-200 2.8 and it is a jewel but 70-300 not so much. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike
