I had posted pictures of a barred owl that showed up in our backyard in the middle of the day. I thought it was a rare event, and we would not see it again.

Well, (s)he was back a few weeks later. This time the owl hung around for 5-10 minutes and let me take many pics, maybe because there were fewer birds in mid-November trying to chase it away from their little ones. A few are below.

A nun who was living in a convent next to a construction site noticed
the coarse language of the workers and decided to spend some time with them
to correct their ways.

She decided she would take her lunch and sit with them, so she put her
sandwich in a Brown bag and walked over to the spot where the men were
eating.

Sporting a big smile, she walked up to the group and asked: "Any of you men
know Jesus Christ?"

They shook their heads and looked at each other, very confused.

Then one of the workers looked up into the steelworks and yelled out,
"Anybody up there knows Jesus Christ?"

One of the steelworkers yelled back down, "Why?"

The worker yelled back, "’Cause his mum's here with his lunch."

Noted the crows, gulls and ducks were uneasy, moving around more than usual. Sunny to cloudy day, kewl lite breeze. Tide coming in. Saw a young eagle high up in a tree over 300 yards out and easily 50 feet up. Then straight from the North I saw a dark shape heading straight at me. Clicking away I see this large young Bald Eagle. A fourth Winter bird, I believe a female due to her size. I sensed an arrogance in her as she swept over the panicked ducks, gulls and crows. She deviated to her left about 80 yards from me.

The GBH was heading along at its own pace, oblivious to the eagles cavorting in the skies above. The GBH was about 300 yards away from me when the shutter was released.

D500, 500pF, 1/400, f 8. ISO 1000, no EC or CPL-handheld and yes some compositional cropping and pp did occur.
