The A7III is not a wildlife camera .....

Why isn’t it, 24 megapixels, excellent high ISO performance and great auto focus. It’s one of the more do it all cameras for an excellent price.

I wouldn’t worry about the noise with the A7rIV, check out Jared Polin’s real world review of the A7rIV posted yesterday, he talks a lot about the noise with excellent samples when viewing the huge files at 1:1 on screen compared to printing where you hardly see it.

I have discovered since asking about Fuji on UHH, that there is a core of Fuji users lurking below the Canon / Nikon surface

I got into Fuji to use alongside my Nikon system but my Fuji system has taken over and I am planning on selling off my Nikon system and possibly picking up a Sony A9 or A7IV and a couple of lenses.

I have the X-H1 and the X-T3 and they are both excellent cameras. The auto focus on the X-H1 is excellent in good light but just ok in low light. The A6400 will have better auto focus in good light but the viewfinder is not as good. In my opinion the X-H1 will require the battery grip or the battery life will be very short when you use the IBIS which is awesome. The X-H1 is a bigger camera, but I prefer the bigger cameras, it also fits my hand perfectly with the battery grip. The Fujifilm cameras are more about the user experience, the more you use it and get to know it the more you will like it. I got the X-H1 recently with the battery grip for $300 when I bought it with the 8-16mm f2.8 lens which I have wanted since it was announced.

The old Tiffen enhancing filter, designed to super saturate warm colors, mainly reds and yellows on film. Now it’s all done in the camera settings or post production.

I had the D810 and traded it for the D850 and what was very apparent is that the auto white balance is noticeably cleaner on the D850 and D500 compared to the D810.

I did not. Is that something I should have done?

You are shooting with a mirrorless camera so you do not have to cap the viewfinder, it has a electronic viewfinder. If you were using a DSLR with an optical viewfinder you might need to cover it.

You’re welcome, sorry for the misunderstanding.

I’m talking about a lens that is slower to focus and hunts back and forth before locking on even in good light and worse in low light. You can’t shoot sports, action, wildlife or even people with any success with under performing auto focus, if you are doing landscapes or snap shots it’s not a big deal.

These are lenses with in-lens AF motor??

Yes, they are the newest F mount lenses and when they are adapted to the Z6 or Z7 there is a performance lag and AF hunting, even in good light. Nikon has some work to do on the Z series, maybe in the next generation they will get it right.

Only older screw drive lenses will not work with the Z models. If you have those older lenses you have a valid point if not, you're working with bad information

Not true, I have tested the Z6 with the adapter on 4 of my AF-S Nikon lenses plus a Sigma Art and Tamron G2 lens and the auto focus is not that good, it’s a big step down from using them on a D850 or D500, you need the Z mount lenses and they are expensive.

I added Fujifilm to my system and so far it has put the fun back into my photography and video work. I now have a quote from MPB to sell off my Nikon gear. I am also interested in the Sony A9. The problem with Nikon F mount lenses is that the auto focus will never adapt to anything very well so adding a Z system body basically means all new lenses too.

If you subscribe to the Adobe creative cloud for Premier you can still get Encore from Adobe, it difficult to find and you may have to call them. It’s by far the best for DVD and Blu-ray authoring, I use it every week for my customer’s DVD projects.

The Tamron 180 macro has the Nikon D series auto focus connection so it won’t focus stack with the D850 either. Nikons F mount lenses will not AF worth a dam with any adapter and the continuous AF in video mode is terrible on any Nikon body, even with the newer lenses, that’s a big part of the reason why the Z6 and 7 have a new mount. Get the Fujifilm 80mm macro, it’s one of the best macro lenses on the market, you will love it.
