Nice capture! Little or no snow in the Flathead Valley?

This image was taken a couple of months ago. We did have a late start to winter here in the Valley, but a couple of weeks ago we had -40 and a big snow dump. Love that Montana weather!

Lovely captures Beth. Number two is particularly striking as you seem to have caught the bird in the exact right spot for maximum impact. Well done.

I particularly like the composition of the second image. If I may suggest cropping a bit from the bottom so that the image is not quite so evenly divided by the pole, that may be an interesting modification. As always, IMHO! Lovely captures in any event Mike.

Yeah, they'll pass you by... Do you hear the screams of super-powered engines, the squealing tires sliding around the curve, the smell of oil, gasoline, and burning rubber? The sights and sounds of the races are quiet for these old friends now. However, the memories of the days that were will always be there.

It's a wonderful combination of elements. I love the barn. But I have a question about how open the side is. Wouldn't that make it rather cold in the winter?

These structures are not generally used as barns, per se. They are generally used as storage sheds for hay bales and other large items. Therefore, they could be open to the weather and not have to worry about temperature control inside. Unlike some barns or stables, animals are not generally housed in these type of structures.

Thanks for the input and suggestions. I really value the constructive thoughts that you all post. Linda, Jack, Frank, Karin, dpullum - much appreciated. And Joe, I promise not to spend all that loot in one place!

Can you post the edit Jack suggested, Tommy? The moon does look pasted. Another thought: because the rest - especially the mountains - are so gorgeous, I'd consider making the moon smaller, and also whiter.

So I feathered the moon a little bit, decreased its size and increased the brightness just a bit. I think it's getting there…

I am willing to bet that these two have seen a lot of hard working days and cold Montana nights together. Download for best view...

When you isolate images like the moon maybe use a one or two pixel feather to help it blend into the background.

I went back and incorporated that into the image, and it definitely made an improvement! Thank you so much for the suggestion.

I have posted two images here – the first one I took of the Mission Mountains here in northwest Montana. The second one I wanted to create a moonscape where a daytime image was converted into a nighttime moonlit shot. I would very much appreciate any feedback regarding the conversion. I used a "moonlight" LUT for the basic conversion, decreased the opacity of the LUT to lighten it a bit, and added the moon and a few dodge and burn adjustments. Changed the sky to a starry night, of course. I used a layer mask to highlight the mountains and tried not to overdo any one aspect of this effort. Constructive criticism on how I might improve the converted image is most welcome... thanks for looking!

Marketing 101 - repetition, repetition, repetition. If you watch television, or use the Internet, you will be barraged by the same advertisements over and over. Yes, the repetition does increase your awareness of the brand. Naming a stadium does pretty much the same thing when it is mentioned over and over and over again in the broadcast of the event taking place there.

Black and white, high key, wonderful composition Linda. I really enjoyed the use of negative space as well. As a suggestion, I have attached a slight crop to more emphasize the two birds with the third rumbling along behind. Not suggesting this is better, but just different. Let me know what you think!
