I used to ask the umpires for permission and I usually got it, although kind of reluctantly. They also restricted the area I could go. Now I always carry my perch and shoot over the fence from every place I can. It is even better as I can shoot over players that could otherwise would get on the line of sight.

Unlike lobsters, which were considered "cockroaches of the sea" and fed to prisioners and those who could not afford to buy even chicken, oysters have been always popular. Although these days you can find the groups of those who hate them, those who love them, those who will never try them and those like me who will cook them first.

As I’m shooting with a non-WiFi enabled DSLR, and I was looking to purchase a WiFi SD card for a special event this week to easily transfer images to smartphones.
I called B&H and Adorama today and they state that these WiFi cards are no longer manufactured. Does anyone know if someone still has these cards for sale ?
Thank you in advance.

Would this work for you?

I have the toshiba. I not great, but OK. I find it slow and not 100% reliable. Perhaps the range is limited.

Planning to fly to Phoenix this Fall and take my basic gear in a small shoulder bag - body, 2 lenses, extra battery, charger, SD card, small stuff. Anything I should be concerned about, other than somebody grabbing my gear?

When going through TSA, make sure to have your body and lens cap handy. Better yet, just cover them to begin with. They will ask you to remove anything bigger than a cell phone from the bag and your lens off the camera.

Two times.

The first one at the General Electric Jet Engine assembly plant in Evendale, Ohio. We were on a tour. We got on the bus and the guide climbed on shortly after. As we were about to move I politely asked if I could take pictures. There were no signs by the way. The guide opened his eyes wide as if he just found I was a Russian spy and he said "You have a camera?!! Come with me now!". He got me by the arm from the middle of the bus where I was. Stepped out of the bus and took me to the guard shack to check my camera in until we left the property. I wonder if had not say anything and they would have caught me sneaking a photo.

The second time was at the basement of the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, where the real graves of Shah Jahaan and his wife are. No signs either, although the guide said something about no pictures. I was shooting film and turned the flash off. Took a picture and for all purposes no one would have known. What I didn't know was that it was my last frame and the camera started to automatically roll the film back into the cartridge, making this loud high pitch noise which gave me away. And got me a stern reminder from the guide.

The fort at San Juan, Puerto Rico. I had a Hasselblad on a tripod. The National Park Guard said I needed to apply and pay for a permit--it takes about 10 days to get approved. I wasn't going to be there that long. Told him the woman that I was with was my girlfriend and I was just a tourist. He wasn't having it. Maybe the fact she was about 25 years younger than me gave it away. Anyway, I got the boot.

May I ask when was this? I can't count how many times I've been in El Morro and the perhaps hundreds of shots I've taken. I wonder if you either got an overzealous guard or it is a recent way to get money due to the budget cuts all over the place. But looks to me that if they wanted your money they could have sold you a permit right there. That sucks. I'm sorry that you could not get any pictures. This photo is from last May.

Great topic. Made me ponder.

I do it for the challenge, as being successful trying to shoot in difficult light

I do it because when freezing a fast moving action I can see things no one has.

I do it for the feeling I get when I see a young photog struggling and my tips make a difference.

I do it because sometimes an image is all I can take with me.

I do it because getting a good picture makes the effort, expense and time justified.

I do it because of the value a photo can have, when I see an old photo of a family member and I get to meet him/her for the first time. And when it lets me remember that person forever.

And for these and many other reasons I feel privileged I can do this.

No, I am not related. I just admired him. In a way, down there he is still alive.

Nice set. Were you allowed into the field? I used to ask for permission from the umpire, but now I carry a ladder and shoot over the fence.

We just got back from Puerto Rico and thanks to some of your suggestions we had a terrific time. We zip-lined. We visited the Rain Forest, the bioluminescent lagoon (which was fabulous) and old San Juan. As I look at these photos I'm realizing that they they don't necessarily exemplify Puerto Rico. They could be anywhere. Oh well, they bring back great memories to me.

I miss it every day, especially when it gets below zero here in Indiana. Glad you had a great time. Awesome images.

The big unanswered question here is WHY? If you want to keep the images on the card for viewing in the camera, then download 'em by Copying rather than Moving. Then they remain on the card.

If you want to use the card as a transfer device - basically a very small, easy-to-lose disk drive - in order to transport images or other files to ANOTHER computer, you probably should reformat the card in the computer. If the "regular" file system isn't recognizing the card as a device it can read/write with, you may have to set it up for the computer to see.

I sometimes have to do this with the small USB drives I use to move files around between computers - my Windows box will fail to recognize one, even though it has been plugged in and used before.

To do this in Win 7 you right click on the Computer icon on the desktop and select the Manage option that deals with disks (my Windows box just crapped out so I can't fire it up to confirm). You will get a graphic display of all the drives connected to the computer, with an indication of how they are partitioned and how full they are. Most will have a drive letter and a disk name showing, but the one that matches (roughly) the size of your card but does not have a drive letter or name is what you need to left click on to select. I think it's a right click that then lets you assign a drive letter to it, and once you do that it will appear in Windows Explorer, along with whatever name you or the camera previously assigned to it.

While I don't know the op intentions, I have transferred images back to my SD card as well. Using the WIFI capabilities of my camera I send the images to my cellphone and then to family members for instant access. However, it will only work for me if these are jpg images and have not been altered in any way.

Lots of places. It's going to be very hot in July, so dress appropriately and drink lots of water. The Grand Ole Opry shows are Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. You must purchase tickets ahead of time at www.Opry.com. A full sized replica of the Parthenon can be seen at Centennial Park which is about 2 miles west of downtown. Here's some albums I took a couple years ago to give you and idea of what to see here. Get here and have some fun. Yee Haw...!

Nice set, thanks for sharing. Great low light images. The Opry website states cameras are not allowed. How did you get around this?

What about if you buy camera gear duty free in US Virgin Islands? I've heard those have US warranty. Anyone with experience on this would care to comment?

There is a ton of information out there regarding this subject. I tend to follow Scott Hargis. Although he is more commercial he also has residential projects as well. He is not your $100 a shoot photographer, but you could learn a lot about his tricks.
