Are you absolutely certain this was shot at a What-a-Burger lot? Somehow it seems more likely to Transylvania. Really great picture.

There is a possible solution to all of this. Create a "membership purchasing consortium" in a state without sales tax....such as Delaware. As a "member of the consortium," your on-line purchases are mailed to the tax free state and then the consortium mails it to its member in his/her state. Since the purchaser (the consortium) is tax exempt in Delaware, no one pays tax. Just a thought.

OK, now I have caught the bug and just looked-up "covered bridges" in Pennsylvania....Geez, there are more than a dozen, who knew? Next week I'll try my hand at capturing a few.

This is NOT an Airbus A-380, but an earlier A-340.The 380 has two pylon struts underneath the wing "between" the engines while the 380 has four pylons. The four pylons are clearly shown in the picture.

The William Kennedy Smith trial has always been a "classic" example of a prosecutor's stupidity in asking one question too much. During cross examination of Mr. Smith, the prosecutor asked, "...do you really expect this jury to believe that you had consensual sex with a woman outside, on the lawn, underneath your mother's open window?" Mr. Smith replied. "...well, do you really believe I would commit forcible rape of a woman outside my mother's open window?" Mr. Smith was acquitted of all charges. The prosecutor was eventually sacked.

OOPS, I stand corrected. I received fair-market value LESS 25%. I apologize for any confusion. Thank you.

Fair market value is that price which the vendor is reasonably able to see the product for. Used camera gear usually results in a 25% gross profit for the seller. Of course the seller assumes all risks, repairs and warranties. So yes, 25% is very fair. In reading previous postings, most offer fair market value less 30 - 35%.

This is a follow-up to a recent posting inquiring about "mpb.com". I traded in a 4 year old Sony NEX-7, a Sony 35mm lens and a 18-105mm lens (both APS-C) for a full frame Sony 16-35mm f/4 lens. mpb.com was very easy to work with. They provided a "fair market value" quote and emailed a pre-paid fedex shipping label. They received and evaluated my gear and offered a trade in of about 25% of the fair market value. The next day, my new lens arrived. They are easy to work with, and I believe fair. I paid a little extra for next day delivery, but they offer free non-rush delivery. Below is the first picture taken with my new lens...jpeg right out of the camera without any post process whatever.

I am currently in the process of trading some of my gear with this outfit. Received their prepaid FEDEX label yesterday and dropped off the package. Waiting to see how this turns out. I will provide an update when completed.

Very nice. What shutter speed did you use to catch the props "spinning?" Really nice job.

Great pictures. Notice that all them are smiling while looking at you. Wonder if they are sizing you up for dinner. Thanks for sharing.

Please forgive my "tongue-in-cheek" comment about helicopters...DON'T GO. I hate helicopters. Earned the Air Medal in Vietnam (26 air assaults and 9 Lightning Bug Missions) and I always associate helicopters with pain. Why sit in a vibrating piece of metal where each piece is trying to tear itself apart? Be reasonable, get in a real airplane (one with wings) and enjoy the ride and photo experience. Remember, if the engine stops while in an airplane, you gently glide down to earth and can thereafter enjoy a nice adult beverage. In a helicopter, once that big thing on top stops rotating.....you drop like a stone. Enjoy the ride and post the pics. -Dave.
